Sorry to hear about your sad situation. However, you said you loved the girl for 10 years. Were you married? If not, why not? She may have wanted a commitment. Who wants to date for 10 years.
A man usually knows right away if he will marry the girl he is dating--there is an underlying mystery there, when it is right it is right. If you aren't married within 2 years of meeting, your chances of marriage are small.
Next time think lifelong love, marriage, family, etc.

I've learned that there are only a few ways to "get over" those people who you are romantically interested in.
1. Find a reason to hate them as a person. For example: I don't hate the fact that you dumped me. I hate the fact that all my hard work, love, me being me, and dedication wasn't enough for you. This way is the easiest, but doesn't always work.
2. Replace them: Find someone, or something else. Example: Find some great new hobby that becomes a passion, or force yourself to fall in love with someone else, but not go for it. This is a little harder, but has better results.
3. Bat to the head. Cause brain damage and memory loss. Example. *Thump* "Ouch!!!" This again, is a little harder, but you'll forget about your girl.
4. Just hang in there. Time really does heal over a large enough time scale. Sometimes (even often) it gets worse before it gets better, but hang in there and it will all work out in the end. Lift your head high and see your amazing potential. You get a fresh new start to do what ever the h*** you want! This is the hardest way, but results are the best too.

Try to do things you love that she forbided you to do. Go out with friends. Don't be afraid to fall again and never ever think that all women will leave you just as your gf did, in this way am sure you'll find the one God truly prepared for you. Enjoy life. Take it easy.
