I've personally had a near death experience (clinically dead and experienced that consciousness still continues after death) and went down the tunnel of light and all that, and there is definitely life after death, without a doubt. No one can convince you though! I didn't know for sure until I was there, and now there is no fear of it because I know for a fact that consciousness goes on even without having physical form anymore. Life goes on in a different plane, and in fact it is far more free than life is here! So be assured, you don't die, only the body does. I encourage you to read people's NDE expereinces, there are thousands of stories of poeple who have clinically died and came back to life after a few minutes with resusitation, and they reported having a huge adventure that definitely continues after the body is left behind! If you want to really check it out, learn how to do Astral Projection.

My true opinion? I think it is either one of two possibilities.

1) you die and that is it, there is nothing else, your time is done. The rational side of me believes this.

2) Life involves some special force, or energy, or something like that that isn't easily described by words. Some people call it the soul, but that implies a uniqueness for each living creature and I do not think that makes sense. When we die, that energy or whatever rejoins the universal "life energy" and may be "recycled". Sort of like a cosmic pool of water, and all living things have a bit of this water in them. So it isn't like the life of me can be recycled as a whole in another living thing. It isn't like reincarnation. It isn't like this life force is disconnected from the "cosmic pool" either, while we are living, so in a sense we (all living things) are connected even while alive.

I know it sounds really spacey and kind of bizarre, but it makes me feel good and explains a lot of things for me.

I think it has been years since I mentioned this to anyone.

When we die, our bodies die but our spirits continue to live. They are in a state called the "spirit world". In the spirit world people can learn things and associate much like we do here. After a period of time, we will be resurrected. This means that our spirits will be joined with immortal bodies. After that we can never die again. When we are resurrected we will be judged and receive a state that fits our thoughts, words and deeds.

There most certainly is life after death. Learn more here: mormon.org.

I believe that once you've actually died you will be guided to the afterlife by a dear friend or family member who has already passed on. If you accepted the gospel during your mortal life you will then continue on to be reunited with your loved ones and continue the Lord's work in preparing for the second coming. If you have not yet accepted the Gospel you will be taught it.

There innumerable destinations according to your desires at the time of death as well how you have lived your life.

i.e. What you deserve...I hate to imagination where people like Bush, Saddam, Sharon and Hitler end up...

They'll probably all be on a chaingang in Hell..shovelling coal together or crawling around as maggots in the same peice of rotting meat.

Justice will prevail.

Romans 10:9
Befor you come out of your Body for Good, you Really Want to get Your Spirit "Recreated" (Saved, Born-Again) so you can be with GOD Almighty in Heaven.

You are a Spirit (You look just like your Body)
and You need to be Recreated (Adam messed hisSelf-Up (Adams Spirit) and passed it down to US)

We are Born Dissconnected from GOD Almighty on this Earth---ROMANS 10:9 will get you RECONNECTED to GOD, then you can go and Live with HIM after you Leave the Earth for good (what we call death).

Death is not about your body, it about your soul. Your body will return to the dust of the ground where it came from in the begining, and your soul is a part of God. It will be place somewhere until the day of judgement after Jesus return to gather the souls that had past before, and the souls that remain in him. Remember, it's not about us, it's about Jesus.

I think that the world will keep going and I'll know more when I get there.

It bothers me too sometimes, but when I erase everything that religion teaches, that's all that's left. A big question mark.

:\ I hate thinking about this. I agree with what someone else said. I think you just cease to exist. There is no afterlife or Heaven or Hell, and even if there is a Heaven or Hell, the soul that goes up or down isn't really you . . . you don't continue to think and "live". YOU are basically gone.

Ugh, I really hate thinking about that. I mean, I know you won't KNOW that you're gone, but just the thought that I'll never exist again really really really scares me. :(
