The feast of Corpus Christi (Body of Christ) celebrates the institution and giving of the Eucharist. In Western Churches it is the Thursday after Trinity Sunday.
The natural day to celebrate this would be Maundy Thursday but at that time the church is fully involved in remembering the passion of Christ. The feast was instituted in the thirteenth century
