Luck would just so have it that out of the 3 girls I live with only two of them wash their hands after using the loo. They are in their late 20's so they should know better It is starting to really gross me out and I don't know what to do. I also have the same problem in the school where I work as most of the female staff and the students do the same thing. Am I doomed to go around bleaching every surface until I move out next July?

It seems to be the fashion here in Spain. I don't eat anything they make but the worst thing is sometimes they go straight from the toilet to the fridge.

Flat out sit them down and explain that there is a MRSA outbreak so everybody in the house must wash their hands and try as soon as you can get some new flatmates. Explain to them it is wrong and it's not that you are being critical but it's because you care about them. Or put a cute little sign in front of the loo that says don't forget to wash don't be piggies!

You need to give them understanding and awareness why washing hands is very important. If they don't wash their hands after using toilet, the bacterias might be still there. And if they directly touch the food of whatever you will eat, it can cause diarrhea or later helminth infection. Heavy infection by worms can cause health problems that are chronic and enduring. Worm infections cause malnutrition by consuming the nutrients that they would normally get from our foods and through reducing appetite so that the they eat less. As a result they, with serious worm infections can be stunted.

You could put up signs in the bathroom saying PLEASE WASH YOUR HANDS.
You could put up information sheets in the kitchen stating THE IMPORTANCE OF WASHING YOUR HANDS AFTER USING THE TOILET AND BEFORE PREPARING FOOD.
Not subtle enough for you? Too bad. If adults you work with have not developed good hygiene habits and you are too chicken to point this out, then you'll just have to remain The Bleach Queen.

Leave soap around everywhere as a hint. If that doesn't work, stick up signs on the bathroom door reminding them.
If worst comes to worst, (like they offer to cook yuu dinner and yuu forget to tell them not to or something) then yuu'll just have to confront them about it.
Whatever yuu do, just don't eat any food they cook or anything!!

well you can buy laminated signs that you can stick over the toilet etc . You will just have to make sure as you say that everything you touch is clean but dont become obsessive about it. Good luck

some people just don't think, i would rally together with the other "washers" and see if they have noticed or are bothered. if they have and are you have two options
1) subtle hints frequently from all of you
2) full frontal, a "here's how it is chat" wash them or stay in your room, or hey i could pi$$ on your floor and bed and side etc etc.
dirty dirty girl.
hope it helps
