As a college senior in a similar situation I can tell you that the stress is real and he is confused about how to handle the relationship. You should tell him to stop blazing (it's killing his dick even if he doesn't know it) and spend more time with you. He can study after he leaves your place, or vice-versa, but can't study after blazing.

I strongly believe that this one's an excuse. Do you know Greg Behrendt? Have you read any of his books? "Men are just never too busy to have what they want..." I mean, if this guy was truly into you, no amount of stress or his busy schedule would never get in the way of him wanting to be with you and making it happen. In fact, if he cared enough for you to wanna be with you, his being stressed out would even be something that should certainly draw him closer to you.. you would be the highlight of his day.. the reward at the end of each hectic day.. Sadly though, men can also come up with a million excuses when they are not so into something or somebody. So I guess what you have to do now is relax and quit over-analyzing this idiot and move on to the next fish... there surely are better men out there waiting for you to notice them. Smile! :)

Without knowing him its hard to judge what he means but either way someone who continues to smoke what he smokes when feeling stressed is no good for you it causes all sorts of relationship problems and messes with your head.
Move on from him he is not giving you the right signals and find someone who can cope with the demands of life without getting so stressed.

Leave this one well alone.
Definitely a wide berth Zone. He probably likes you (and wants to have s*x with you) but knows he can't commit so doesn't want to hurt you.
Just forget it and find someone slightly more mature with their emotions.
And yes, it is an excuse.
If you go there, you will regret it.

Hard to say without knowing the person, its very hard to make an opinionated thought about that statement without knowing the person and his character.
It could be honest, then again it may not.
