Religion wasn't a thing that people like invented, it was something they realized and paid respect to(worship). Of course there's God. There has been evidence of worship since man was man. To me, its a no brain-er. It's evident in the sky, the sun, the oceans tide, change of seasons, the worlds rotation, the reproduction of animals, how death decays and returns to the earth-so many examples hidden in the way that life works that are so ingenious and delicate in balance that I cant belive (me and the 99% of the rest of the world that recognizes some form of religion) that it all just "happened" by chance.
Man did, however, create the church. And the church, unlike God, is not perfect.-like the catholic preist molestations that were ignored for so long, and radical Islam going around killing innocent people and preaching hate in the name of Allah(God), TV evangelists exthorting money from the most helpless of people- I don't blame a person for not wanting to affiliate themselves with that garbage. Its hipocritical, and bottom line, its evil. But , that's man for you-imperfect. Forgive, forget, and judge not lest you be judged.
Ok so here comes Jesus. Son of God, but still a real human, sent here by his Father(God) with one objective-to spare man from hell. Before Jesus, like hardly anybody got into heaven, and God was sad about that because he loves his creation but he was dissapionted with what we choose to do with our free will. Like sunday morning&I have a hangover. Get ready and go to church or sleep?Hhmmm-tough choice. We as humans almost always feel like doing the wrong thing. Thats how God made us and its written that no matter how good you try to be, you are still a sinner(commom bond of all men) and thru the life and death of Jesus Christ, our sins were reconciled in Gods eyes.
Thats what the cross represents. God's sacrifice of his son for the redeemtion of the imperfect souls of man. Admitting this in your true heart is enough to be saved. Believers in Christ the savior are in their own class of religions:Christians. Catholic, luthern, protestant, pentecostal, baptist; all examples of Christian religions. Muslim religions do not recoginze Jesus as a savior but a prophet, and the mainstake of thier holy book (Koran) is based on the writings of the prophet Mohameed, who is not mentioned in the Bible. Jewish people also do not acnowledge Jesus as the savior of man, but believe that the savior is still to come.
The differences in these three major religions has been the basis of nearly every world war thru history. Presently, we are fighting the war in Iraq, which when you look past the business interests and political adgenas, is a war of religious fundamentals. Islam calls all non-muslims "infedels" and according to their own text, it is thier life's mission to banish the infidels from their holy land. They really despise Americans, Christians and all our ideals, in the worst possible way. They hate us in thier heart of hearts. They hate us, aim to banish us from the face of the earth, and they do so with(in thier minds) the blessing of Allah(God), for the glory of God.
So why is their religion. My best answer is that I don't know.
It seems as though religion can bring out both the best and worst qualities of mankind. Where one battle in is won in the name of rightousness, 10 times those efforts in the name of peace are overlooked. Its all so impossible to figure out, and even harder to accept. I could sit here an hour telling you all the ways I can prove that God doesnt exist and I could search the world over unsucessfully looking for somebody who can. And after walking the miles that have no end, asking every wise man to share with me their wisdom, and knocking on every door I see for one person to offer me some kind of evidence that indeed it is true. I do all this all to my failure and when I sumbit to the idea of Gods impossiblity ;its then that I know the answer.
Who is God but love? And love exists only in the light of truth, those who live in the light are those who are the faithfull, and faith- Faith is the choice that God sent to us. There is God if, and only if, you say it to be true. To believe in him though he's never been seen, to know he loves&keeps you dear to him without hearing him say, to feel his presence thruoghout the world though he's never been touched. These are the things that faith is made of.
So choose him; testify him to be your savior and show him in your actions that you live to glorify his name. Decide to have him the way he has chosen you and you will stake your claim in eternity: Say it to be true and YOU WILL NOT BE NOTHING after the years have thier way with you and your flesh goes away.
Look-this is me just talking to you and I realize I got totaly carried away with the subject but now theres too much text for me to just delete..I'm not a preacher, Im not a crazy church person, Im not going to hit you up for money or tell you to repent and Im sure not trying to judge you for your beliefs... im a young mom that lives in wisconsin that is married and trying to make a decent life for my 2&7year olds. Were not rich, not poor, and I probably go to church like 6 times a year.
I said all this cuz this is what I feel in my heart and plus I dont really talk to adults that much so probably you caught the bad end of a relapse from my anti-social lifestyle. But, I do hope you found something of this ranting to be usefull if not only for a laugh at what crazy-asses you find there out on the net. Peace be to you my sister, wherever it happens to show itself to you.
ooopps, youre a guy huh. My bad. sorry.

Because Sometimes People Want To Believe That There's A Reason For Something And That There's Someone There To Guide Us Through Life.

Mt. Sinai EDIT to Jackie: What does a Savior could do with the Jewish faith? truthfully not something. that's for a homework question - not an excuse which you are able to proselytize. further: i've got faith that the founding of the religion itself may well be traced to the convenant - whilst G-d spoke on Mt. Sinai to the completed u . s . a . and Moses further the Commandments down.

Religion almost certainly arose in the old days when life hung by a thread and failure of the rains would mean starvation. Any scheme, no matter how improbable, which might improve the odds of survival would be tried. Notice the emphasis on sacrifice in the old testament; all of this is intended to propitiate the god or gods in order to enhance simple survival. For more on this, see:

Because there is a higher power out there that can save your from burning in hell for eternity. Jesus Christ is real I would get to know him. It will help. I think you just a little lost. People need to believe in something. People just didn't appear on earth. God created all of this. Get to know Jesus Christ and accept him in your heart as your Lord and Savior.

religion is a coping mechanism of the ego. the body and the spirit know that there is something out there, beyond us, beyond our minds and bodies. the mind however needs an explanation for our existence as well as comfort in this confusing phase that we call life.
religion has become so popular because for many people, it is easier to believe than it is to ponder. they would rather have an answer than a thousand questions that have no answer.
it would seem that gullibility has won out over the pursuit of truth.

people had religion long before jesus...and some people don't even care about him.
i think it's for people who need to believe they are a part of something bigger than themselves.
while i believe in a higher power, i think we were given free will - and you can still be a free thinker and have a religion...we are meant to be different.
i think that the people who are truly living their spiritual goals are the ones not trying to shove their beliefs down people's throats.

1-Because there IS a God!
2-Because you choose NOT to believe in God.
3-Not a question.. why are there ???'s at the end of it?
4-Because my faith convinces me there is.
That's all the questions you asked! I won't bother you with any more RELIGION since it seems to BOTHER you SO MUCH!
Have a blessed day.

ever since the start of time, people believed someone made them and helped give what was needed to survive. that's why people believe in god. Also if you do not believe in god, it's OK. people cant be forced to.

Religions have outlived their functionalities, if there were ever any.Life is more than all the religions put together.Further, all religions bind ,restrict and control us and thus interfere in our natural freedom of mind and spirit(if any).Be your self and be happy and if possible, help lesser people to be happy. All the best.
