The Holy Spirit of God did when He spoke a word into my heart, telling me that Jesus died for my sins - and I believed, and was born again - totally transformed from the inside out; changed from a wicked rebel to an adoring child of God, in an instant.

My parents told me it was true, and for some time I did have spiritual "feelings" related to the worship of God as laid out in the Bible; that combined with what basically amounts to indoctrination were what made me believe in it. Of course, the horrific parts of the Bible were hardly given much attention, and I'm no longer a Christian due to these (numerous) passages. However, the teachings of Jesus were and to an extent still are something I try to adhere to. I believe that the Bible is different from a lot of books, but shares similarities with a few of the main books of the world's biggest and most enduring religions: god can be found in some of the passages, which is why you will get answers from people who say they know it's true because following it makes them feel the Holy Ghost, Jesus, God, etc., etc...

Lots of people told me that, and I didn't believe them (still don't). But I have been studying the Bible for about 10 years now. It is sad that neither Christians nor non-Christians can appreciate the Bible for what it actually is.

She replaced into the main wonderful, harmless, form, humble, compassionate, and actually beautiful person interior the international. yet, i did no longer have self assurance each little thing she mentioned. This situation, tho, I did have self assurance. Then, I positioned the innovations into prepare and located them to be solid and real and sensible. over the years I had many reviews that greater proved that there replaced right into a God and that He knew me and enjoyed me. Then, I doubted a sprint and had fears and had to relatively, relatively, relatively comprehend from Him if He have been there. I knew that i ought to ask human beings, yet then i might merely get adult men's comments. i wanted the reality, so I went to who i assumed replaced into the source of certainty. I knew that if there have been a God, He ought to respond to my trouble-free prefer to correctly known. So, after first believing my mom and attempting my proper to stay the solid sparkling existence for years and years, I asked. i did no longer call for a demonstration or threaten to alter into anti God. I merely was hoping that He might hear me. i don't have self assurance that I deserved an answer, yet I have been given one. Now my faith has been grew to become right into a advantageous information and prefer Paul mentioned, "What I won, I won from no guy". it is so relieving to correctly known and not purely have self assurance. nevertheless lots of issues and information that i do no longer comprehend, yet my concern of dying has replace into very small. My love and understanding of the Lord has replace into much greater constructive. It replaced into no longer a voice in my head. you will possibly no longer have self assurance it replaced into actual. concerns no longer whether you do or do no longer because of the fact the reality isn't plagued by using what number followers it has. purely people who're unafraid of the reality will ever locate it. i'm hoping all might try those issues out. there's a recipe for looking God and in case you do it ideal, you will. that's like a recipe for something. the stairs might desire to be observed to get the needed result. Takes staying power and prayer before everything.

Ever heard the song, "Yes Jesus loves me ... for the Bible tells me so." Idk where/when I first realized that the Bible is true, but I believe it without even a shadow of doubt.
The Bible is the infallible Word of God and is therefore, just as important today as it was yesterday and as it will be tomorrow. God even puts His word above His name!
Brunella's answer was superb, idk y anybody would give that answer a bad rating bcuz after reading all of that, it actually seems like it was the most informed, unbiased answer so far.

The Bible is true because there are billions of copies of it all over the world today and it has stood strong and firm against the test of time. Many scholars and great men have set out to prove the Bible as not God's Word but the more they tried, the more they found proofs to substantiate the truth and credibility of the Bible.
Your question should be " Is what is written in the Bible true?" To me, what is written in the Bible is true because I have read it and have applied it in my life and it works! The greatest proof of whether or not the Bible is true is for you to read it and put what is written into practise - test it out for yourself and try to prove that it is untrue. However, be warned! Many well-known atheists have tried doing this and ended up as firm believers of Christ. Check out C.S. Lewis, Frank Morrison (Who moved the stone?) and Lee Oswald.

I think it's all folklore experienced by ignorant sheepherders and other simple folk and semi-primitives that were dealing with beings from another planet. They didn't have any frame of reference to explain what they were seeing, so everything was "God" to them.
(Notice how in all major religions, no matter who their god is, they all seem to come from the sky?)
You should read Ezekial sometime. You'll see what I mean.
Or how about this little tidbit in Genesis: " And it came to pass, when man began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them that the SONS OF GOD saw the DAUGHTERS OF MEN that they were fair and they took them wives of all which they chose."
Excuse me? What does that sound like to YOU?!
Also, do you realize that there is no empirical archeological proof that Jesus existed?
At the time that Jesus was supposedly alive, there were three major historians in that area.
Not one of them mentions him at all in their writings!
If he was actually there, at that time in history, doing all of these miracles and such....how come none of these historians that were there make ANY mention of him?
For further thoughts on this subject, you should check out this book....

Jehovah God did. I believe the Bible is true, cause I read it frequently, not as much as I should but I do read it. When I took Jesus into my heart, that told me that the Bible is true. It is to me and whoever wants to believe in God and Jesus. God Bless each and everyone of you.

Oh dear! People saying spirits told them the bible is true, it must be so! Many years ago, people were burned at the stake for those claims. How can one be CERTAIN that it is really god and not Satan? What evidence makes one so sure they are not being fooled by their subconscious?
