It depends on the size, severity, and cause of the ulcer. Chances are it'll take a few days for the medicine to get into your system and get the healing process started. Keep in mind that it may be working even if you aren't feeling better yet. If you have finished your prescribed medicine and still don't feel better, you need to go back to your doctor. Otherwise, just try to be patient.

I've had my ulcers for 6 months now. They are a lot better since I started meds three weeks ago. But drs. say can take up to 3 months to feel better and a lot of people never feel better UGH!! I constantly have pressure in my upper abdomen, naseau, vomiting here and there. My 3 ulcers were all 1 inch big. Drs. said that's big for ulcers. I go back in a few days for another endoscopy to see how they are healing. Good Luck. very uncomfortable feeling all the time in the stomach, I know it's not fun.

some last long time.. some go away on their own but mainly you must take medications to treat them... I have used prilosec for many years.. I have gerd and once had ulcer it healed my ulcer up.... but that doesnt mean it wont come back someday.... more than likely you need medications to treat the ulcer since they get bigger and can hurt alot can cause many problems also good luck !!

Ulcers in stomach may take a few weeks to heal completely since they are exposed to the acids and are also abraded by food. So, follow the doctor's instructions and keep the food bland and smooth.

Normally not very long. You get two sorts of medicine. One to lower the acid of the stomach and one antibiotica. If the acid is lowered, you mostly will not have any problems. But you must further take your medicin! If you have after 2 days still problems, call your doc.
