an average family's typical breakfast here in the philippines usually consists any of these:
eggs (fried or boiled),frozen goods (hotdogs, ham, bacon, tocino, longaniza etc..), dried salted fish which we call tuyo or daing here, and fried rice (dinner leftovers mostly), milk for kids, coffee for grown ups and a serving of fruit (bananas usually) ^_^

I'd guess bacon or sausage is usually involved in the average breakfast, at least in America.

Bacon and eggs are my favorite. The kids like sugary cereal and milk. My wife loves pancakes or waffles with cane syrup and sausage.

We have lots of whole grain cereal, hot and cold. I guess the one we eat most is oatmeal, or Malto Meal.
Sweetened cereal and bacon/eggs, etc.are for the weekends only.
