you are absolutely correct - that it should be worrying you. However, not just a little bit. It is not Biblical at all- Jesus was much more than man, He was God. Where on these sites did it say that Jesus came to earth to die on the cross to save us from our sin. Where in scripture does it say, that we are to find what beliefs "ring true" for us. Prosperity, and everything else that UNITY talks about is totally unbiblical. Membership requirements in a true Christian church is only based on belief in the virgin birth, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ- and new life through Him. - not how long you have attended- and what classes in prosperity that you complete. Ask your sister who Christ is to her. Then go the Bible and see if it matches. UNITY does not believe in the trinity either.

I learn their declaration of ideals, and it looks sound. If I have been looking for a church in that discipline, I might be inclined to provide that one a check out. But the one technique to be certain is to move and notice for your self should you believe the presence of the Holy Spirit there. I am a nondenominational Christian.

Most cults started from between 1801 and 1901, Mormonism, Seventh Day Adventism, Jehovah Witnesses, Pentecostalism/Charismatism.... The assault of Satan against the Church was greatest during that 100 year period. So too, was Darwinism, liberalism and modernism.
If I were you, start looking for a more conservative Church, Puritanical is possible. Try using the works of John Bunyan, Jonathan Edwards, Thomas Shepard..... email me if you are interested.

Well, I have a problem with these type of teachings, Because, bad things happen to Christians- The same rain pours on the just & unjust. I feel it`s a lie, because, when you put your faith in it, you will constantly,be wondering "where did I go wrong, when something bad happens". Put your faith in God, not man. You can listen to man, but read your Bible, & listen to your heart-if someone goes against this. Don`t follow them.Learn to follow the Holy trinity, the Bible (new testament) & your heart with LOVE.

Not too sure what this church is all about, even after going through their websites. My only advise would be - "when in doubt, don't!". It is better to stick to a church that you are clear about and whose principles and beliefs you know are in line God's Word than to venture into something that may lead you astray. (Unless you are very well-versed in the Word of God, it is very easy to be led astrayed and deceived by false teachings and half-truths, so do be very careful.)

This is an occult church ("occult" means the unknown). They believe in God and Jesus, but they want you to keep your mind open, not necessarily adhering strictly to a Bible. They will most likely teach meditation and open-minded philosophies. (They make you study for a year, just as many occult groups make you study for a year-and-a-day). If you are a fundamentalist Christian who sticks directly to the Bible, this is not for you.

Reminds me very much of the Unitarian/Universalist Churches here. Pretty accommodating and accepting. Open minded.
Nope, the more I read, the less I like. They talk out of both sides of their mouths. I'd be scared too. On one hand, they say think for yourself while on the other they say OBEY.
It seems like they want contract members as "Students" and that is eerie.

It seems sketchy. What, do they require the Canadian equivalent of a W-2 as well? Come on.
The Bible says we're to cheerfully give. We're not supposed to be REQUIRED to give.
And that whole "Jesus just lived up to His divine potential" stuff is unbiblical. Jesus was the Son of God. Period.
I'd avoid it if I were you.

Somthing about this church screams "cult" to me. Especially the "students" part. I've been going to a church for a few years, and went to a christian school before that. Never heard them use the term Student when refering to a church member.
Seems like this church is Bible based, but took their own interpritation on it.

the whole membership thing seems a little bogus to me and the financial thingy too. also in their little prayer thing in the last link they didnt pray correctly in the way the bible says to. im not 100% where its at exacly im not one of those people that can pull out exact scriptures out of the bible but i do know is says when you pray you're supose to ask for it in the name of the son Jesus Christ, amen. its in mathew i think somewhere. i half agree with the otehr people saying its a new age/cult thing in other words they almost seem like the knit pick what they want outa the bible
