I was just told in a email that my avatar is offensive to Christians.
Uh...considering who I am....anyway....is it? Truthful answers please.

No, he just said it's "not good" and then wouldn't respond to email back...I am truly puzzled by this.

She's holding a leaf....no symbolism was intended by me. And she IS wearing clothes...I am really puzzled by this. I'm going to have to think about this.

Not offensive. Come get a little "hand" babe. Oops how dare I talk to my wife like that. Seriously, don't let the dude bother you.

Love ya, see you at the wheel.

I'm guessing the avatar is Lilith, Adam's first wife? In any event, I don't know why anyone would find it offensive. First off, its a piece of art that is not sexually suggestive or perverse, and second, its so freaking small who can be offended by it!? To really see it you'd have to move close to the screen, squint your eyes and the conjure the rest with imagination. Perhaps he has too much time on his hand to put your avatar under such scrutiny?
For the most part, I would ignore him. We can't make everyone happy.

Thanks, Shinigam :)
My hair is long and really red, so I see nothing wrong with it. The person probably is reminded of Celtic Pagans (like me!) so he is offended, although I don't know why he should be. I'm not offended by their crosses, crucifixes and the like. If you are secure in your beliefs, you won't be offended or intimidated if someone else does not embrace your beliefs. I don't understand the need for so much comraderie in religion; but then again, in my religion, many of us are solitaries.

Fereshte, you are the bomb! Lilith, the first mate to man, is my patron Goddess.

"No, he just said it's "not good" and then wouldn't respond to email back...I am truly puzzled by this."
Why does it not suprise me that he can't/won't defend his opinionated comments?

I can't see how that would be offensive to anybody. Did they give a specific reason?

EDIT: well all I can think of is that the person may have thought it a bit too "pagan". Which is all really very silly. Ignore the fool. Your avatar's great.

Well I couldn't see what you were talking about .......so I went to your 360 to see a better picture.
I read your blog.............

I'm sorry to here what you and your husband have gone through.
I'm glad that the you have found life in faith.

Then I saw that you play Free Rice..........my eyes just popped. I just recently posted a question on that and someone reported it and now it's frozen.

So who cares who emailed you. I had a jerk delete my question of Free Rice, which is for a good cause.

Live long and prosper and may peace be with you always.

In what way could anyone say that avatar is offensive? That truly puzzles me. I think it's pretty....

It does have a pagan look about it. If you are comfortable with that being the view people in here have of you and what you believe, then keep it.
The woman in the picture is as beautiful as you sound to be, but its overall appearance is the impression left in the mind of the viewer.

I am not a christian. :) So, perhaps you don't want to know this from me, but I do not think it is. It is a natural beauty. :) Seriously, if you like it, I think you should keep it. And I think someone who is offended by your avatar should perhaps find a bigger fish to fry. Seriously. Come on people. Go hug a tree or save a whale. Help stop child abuse. Have you nothing better to do with your time than be offended by a postage stamp?

you look like a beautiful red headed fairy :o)
darling , your avatar may not be " Christian " but it is hardly offensive
I worry about people who even put energy into this type of thing
in my home , I have angels , fairies , Buddhas etc
I love the symbolism behind these things
I love the positivity from them
I dont give a rats *** what anyone thinks
because if people are going to judge on silly things like this .... they cant be too secure in their own faith

you do what you do , as long as it harms no one ...be secure in yours

p.s it actually suits you ... a feisty fairy :oP

They say mine is. But what they fail to realze is that when one reads the definitions on ask.com, they say I'm not christian. It's just like astrology, go back to it's inception, that means studying, and you realize that God left a message in the stars. Problem is that man twists things around. To answer your question, it looks cool. I don't judge the outward man or in your case a wonderful person. Yes, sorry I'm married. ha ha. lol
