If you want the value of the tax in dollars and cents, then you have to tell us what state this Best Buy is in and what is the cost of the item. Then we could calculate for you the exact amount of tax in dollars and cents.

Depends upon the state. Sales taxes vary from 0% to as high as 10% in a few places.

Sales taxes are always expressed as a percentage. The actual tax you pay depends upon the price of the goods and the tax rate. It's not a set amount.

Every state has a different sales tax rate and they vary pretty greatly from about 4% to almost 10%. You said you don't want a percent, but that's the only way to answer.

It depends on what state you are in, and sometimes what city. And you might want the dollar amount not the percent, but since it's based on the cost and you don't give the cost, there's no way anyone can give you anything other than just the percent.

Taxes in the US are based on the State and City, who set the rate. So it depends which store you went to.
