ack! Pascal's Wager is not going to be valued much here, just a suggestion.

A toast to Pascal's Wager! *drink*
One glaring flaw in your implicit premise is that it's not a 50/50 probability.
As someone above pointed out, since there are hundreds (if not thousands) of gods YOU could guess correctly that there is a god but choose the wrong one, and you'd still be in the same boat with us good ol' atheists.

So what. I have lived a life more moral than most christians that I know and far more than 50% of the catholic priesthood. If god is going to send me to hell because I didn't genuflect fast enough then heaven is not a place i want to be.

What if you're wrong? What if the ancient Egyptians were right? What if the Mayans were right? What if the people on some planet we've never heard us are the ones who are right?
Why waste your time asking who's right? Just live your life as best you can and stop torturing people with pointless questions just because they're different from you.

Well, as an ex-Christian atheist I'll be up for a special grilling.
But I have to vote my conscience here and now.
Thank you T H Huxley:
"I have searched over the grounds of my belief, and if wife and child and name and fame were all to be lost to me one after the other as the penalty, still I will not lie."
See his letter of September 23, 1860, concerning the death of his young son.

If I'm wrong, I'm sure that "God" will understand - the religions which claim to act on his behalf are the ones who are going to be up s*** creek without a paddle.
Organized (and disorganized) religions are morally and intellectually bankrupt.

Mate, if I'm wrong and a god exists, any god but yours would take much more kindly to me than to a Christian that has insulted him/her/it for so long. Btw, this is called Pascal's Wager and has been asked over and over and over and over and over and over and over- you get the picture- again.

I agree with the others. What if YOU are wrong?
What if another religion is right?
What if Atheists are right and there is nothing there?
What if the Flying Spaghetti Monster is the one true lord?

no seriously god came down said here Adam take care of the animals for me, be a good boy... pollute their rivers so they cannot drink, destroy their land so they may not live...
instead build me lots of shiny temples and tell me you love me all day,
then ... and only then when the earth has towers that almost touch the sky, and the ice melts and the crops stop growing and every man is an enemy - then and only then will i take you to the store for an ice cream.

About what? Do you have any good pointers about which god we should believe in? There are only a few hundred--if not a few thousand--to choose from.
What if YOU're wrong? Odin will not be very pleased with you come Ragnarok.
