But they've just made temporary bad choices that led them astray?

Does free will and being allowed to choose your own belief system (or not believe in anything) not exist at all anymore?

OregonFlower, there was a girl asking for a psychic reading a few posts back and someone mentioned "you must be a Christian" when no Christian would ask such a thing. If that's presuming then I don't know what is.

This is an excellent question. Unfortunately, this is a viewpoint that is combined with a view that every religion other than Christianity is "Satanic"

Please remember that free will is not actually a universal Christian doctrine. There are sects that teach predestination, which in a nutshell means that only those who are "chosen" are even capable of being Christian.

I think that both of these views are fallacious, but as a Hellenic Polytheist, I am either deluded or damned to them.....

I am a Christian and I wouldn't make that mistake. Many people who think that they are Christian are not even Christian. Anyone can believe anything they want to believe, and I am not impressed by numbers, God knows His chosen and He can get more if He wants more.

It's like the Muslims with their " What is the fastest growing religion in the world" tripe. So what IF Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world? That only means that the lies within Islam is taking an effect on a lot of people who don't know the truth.

They also try to name drop, like what famous people are Muslim? As if that would impress anyone with an ounce of identity. It's as if we are all supposed to be starstruck and jump on the bandwagon of famous people.

Because people are very narrow-minded and few are open-minded.

Free will still exists and will always exist so long as one individual remains that believes in free will.

It's religio-centrism. They don't have enough education to appreciate that some people may reach a different but equally valid conclusion given the same information.

It's lack of an objective viewpoint: They're so indoctrinated in their own beliefs that they assume anyone with a differing viewpoint must be lying, deluded or stupid.

hmm just a few ideas ...

Arrogance, ignorance, stupidity... etc...

and nope.. you are free to believe in any god you want as long as it is the Christian god! or be harassed repeatedly into trying to believe in Christian dogma.

OMFG dude! That's my family! They say that I am "saved" and will still go to Heaven, but I'm just "backslidden" and out of the will of God.
