Its very normal! I have had the same 2 cats for 13 years and they still do it. Its actually a reflex from being a kitten and feeding from their mother. Its a sign that they are happy and feel safe.

Hi!
How is it going?
My friend (female) had the same thing. All she did was well ill tell you a bit more. When she got it it was a kitten and she bought a pet barrier (bought from $2 shop) and put it in there at night (the kitten could climb over it) after a while it got bored so it started. It would lay on her and........... kneed and she thought " something soft something soft" so she got a pillow and put it in the barrier and every so often it would............ kneed. Try that. Bye

My cat does the exact same thing. Yes, it's normal. It probably means he was taken from his mother too soon. My cat was found in a dumpster when she was just 10 days old. It hurts, sometimes, when she does this, but I try to let her do it, it seems to comfort her a lot.

Just for future reference, kittens should stay with their mothers until they are 10-12 weeks old, even if they are weaned earlier. Kittens who stay with their moms this long have far fewer emotional problems.

I can do ya one better than that. One night I was sitting on my porch and a wet fuzzy thing ran over my feet as it turned out there were 2. I screamed bloody murder because I thought it was a rat. It was 2 manx kittens and when my husband got home from work and piled up in the bed with these little beggars ( he would call them) he would doze off (he himself is a bit furry and this was not lost on the kittys) they got in his armpits and twirled theirselves up a nunnie and suckled and kneaded and damn near killed him all night every night and mister stick in the mudd who claimed he did not want kittens lay very still every night so as not to squish or disturb the babies.

Oh yes! Most cats do this. They do it when they are comfortable or happy. Even though it can be painful for you, they enjoy it. I have even had cats nurse my clothes.
