Hey everyone, the greatest fan of Sezen Aksu, in this section, it's not Ipek, it's ME ;)))

Well, I have ALL the albums, I know ALL the songs, so I think I have enough " knowledge" to criticize her.

Sezen Aksu has contributed to the prestige of Turkish modern music called " Pop", but as you all know she is able to do very different things ( just listen the 1995 album " Isik Dogu'dan Yükselir", which is a genuine panorama of the Anatolian styles ).
I can understand people who are not really fans, as they may probably not know her enough, and they seem to only notice that she lost her magical voice ( nowadays she can't sing the same way as she used to sing before ), and that she apparently seems to have spoiled her creativity sometimes ( as every great writer/composer/singer does,actually) in some wrong choices since 2001 ( too many "experimentation" albums, and too many "similar" melodies , despite of her trying to get a special "spiritual mood", in my personal opinion).. The image of Sezen has also suffered from her "popularity", which sometimes is "too commercial", and it's due to her helping many other artists by giving them songs ( Tarkan,and others ).

People should just listen without prejudice all her songs, and I'm sure that every single Turkish person will discover some "hidden" songs that will touch his heart.

As you all know, she's still considered as a " sarki yazma makinesi", and in her prolific repertoire, there are at least 50 unforgettable songs.

Many of her masterpieces were composed by the genius Onno Tünç ( his melodies were as magical as if they were coming from another world, despite of their seeming to be "so simple" ).
Atilla özdermiroglu also wrote many diamonds for her, as "FIRUZE " ( Ipek, I suppose you understand me : just listen to the intro on maximum volume : that's just like being under drugs, LOL ).
She herself also wrote so many incredible songs, for her own albums and for other artists.

Have you ever listened to " TÜKENECEGIZ " ?

Have you ever listened to " GERI DÔN " and " SEN AGLAMA" and " BENI UNUTMA " ?

And " BILE BILE " ?

And so many, so many others...

She has been the influence of many great composers and singers, from Uzay Hepari to Ercûment Vural, from Yesim Salkim to Kenan Dogulu, from Sertab Erener to Tarkan, from Izel to Harun Kolçak, from Ben Deniz to Melis Sökmen,from Askin Nur Yengi to Levent Yüksel, etc...
If you appreciate songs from these artists, you certainly understand Sezen's music )

I will anger Sezen Aksu fans, but I don't like the lady's style. The only song I like from Sezen Aksu is Herşeyi Yak, but only from Duman. The lead singer kid's discordant voice somehow makes it more sincere.
