If it wasn't for God's loving grace, I would have turned out to be an assassin. No joke.

do you really KNOW christ? do you really know about how christianity came to be? i don't think that you do.

no offense intended, i just think that if you knew the truth about your religion, you wouldn't put so much stock in it.

as a side note: YOU may have been helped by this religion, after all that's what it's for. however, it is time to stop viewing this faith as historical truth and recognize it for what it really is.

take, for instance, the so-called "birth" of jesus. this is actually a symbollic story about the winter solstice and the "birth" of spring...all of it relates to the stars

three wise men (orion's belt) follow a star in the east (sirius) to Bethlehem, which in hebrew translates to "house of bread". this is also a nickname of the constellation Virgo (the virgin).

the stars in orion's belt, along with the star sirius, point to the location on the horizon where (underneath the constellation virgo) the Sun (son of god) is "born" on december 25th. this is the very beginning of the sun's movement across the sky to its location on the vernal equinox. winter passes into spring.

the bible is just a gender biased, homophobic, and rather inconsistent and contradictory set of moral lessons, most of which are present in every major religion. hidden in much of the dialogue are clues to the connection to the stars.

christianity is just a mash up of other, older religions

egyptian mythology, greek mythology, christian mythology

it's all the same

"Luck" has nothing to do with it. We are fortunate and blessed to know Christ. Knowing Christ changes your life indeed. I don't think I would have been an assassin, but I would have been someone I wouldn't want to know. On any level. Many blessings.

Ace,
I do not believe in "LUCK". I believe that I am very fortunate that GOD sent two older people to share the LOVE of CHRIST with my wife and I when HE did. As you, I was in a horrible condition and I was looking for HIS TRUTH at that time. Had it not been for the love and caring of those two people I do not know where my wife and I would be today. We have been Christians for over twenty years and we have been married for over 32 years at this time. I thank GOD each and every day that they came and took the time to teach us about Jesus Christ. Have a great week.
Thanks,
Eds

Very lucky, I don't think you would have turned out that way. I am very grateful to know Jesus, he is our savior. He died for our sins. I know if I hadn't taken Jesus into my heart, I would be nothing without him and without Our Father, God. I feel very lucky that I have started reading the bible and praying again, my life has become more fulfilling and joyous since then. This is a very good question. Thanks for asking!!!!!!! God Bless you.

Right....the CIA called one day and said "Hey, Joanie...this is Agent Smith. God wanted to let me know you can either be a Christian, or an assassin. The choice is yours." right?

You probably would've been doing the same exactly thing you're doing now...

Anyway, we're pretty lucky.

yes
a person who really follws the principles of jesus(pbuh) is lucky.
studying bible makes us understand that jesus (pbuh)too prayed to the lord who is mentioned as god (or allah in arabic).
The holy qur an describes jesus (pbuh)ina way similar to all other messengers.
truly it is better to believe that jesus(pbuh) is now with the god,the almighty.
muslims believe him to be a true messenger of god and he was the predecesor of muhammad(pbuh).so faith in the principles of jesus(pbuh) and all the messengers is necessary for peace of life after death

I'd be a runaway college dropout, dead of suicide or married to some guy I didn't love just because I thought he would be too stupid to notice I was cheating on him.

No joke.

When we reflect and know how much He has forgiven us, how much grace He has imparted, we know how much we should have love.
