Women should not be pastors. Women are welcome to be deacons or Bible school teachers. And their most important job is to be a mother to their children.
Does that make you mad? Yeah it made me mad too....at first, back when I was a feminist. Then I figured out that those of us who are "least" here on Earth will be among the "greatest" in Heaven. What a blessing!

In the very early days of Christianity women played a very big role. They were the heads of congregations, etc. Why can't women be pastors or priests? Because in the early days of Christianity after women were beaten back into secondary roles (the customary role in most religions...Jewish, Muslim....women had to take a back seat and let the men do the main work of the clergy. Women are slowly emerging as important participants in several religions and it will expand slowly but surely.

Silver and Vesper are both wrong. Paul was inconsistent in his writings on the subject. Otherwise, why would Paul have appointed Phoebe to head up the church at Rome, after having a successful tenure at the church of Cenchrea? If women pastors were truly an abomination to Paul, then why would he send a woman to head up the congregation of the most important city of the ancient world?

Yes I do. I have a friend who is a female pastor and I don't see anything wrong with it at all.
Paul (not Jesus) says in the Bible that women are to be seen and not heard in the Church. In the time period he lived in, and throughout the OT and Judaism, women were considered property and 3rd class citizens. In this day and age, women have many more rights and opportunities. Why shouldn't they be allowed to be ministers?

No, it's not okay. Teachers, fine. But men are supposed to be the head of the household and the head of spiritual matters and leading. The Bible tells us so. No it's not sexist, our positions are clearly laid out in the Bible. Men are supposed to be the leaders and women are supposed to be the nurturers. This is how God designed us. It has nothing to do with men being better than women or something stupid like that, it's just how God designed us to work. And don't call me sexist, I'm a woman and i have this view.

The bible says Pastors deacons etc are a man of one wife. That is pretty clear to me that GOD does not acknowledge a woman in any position of teaching or preaching to men.

God has ordained that only men are to serve in positions of spiritual teaching authority in the church. this isn't because men are necessarily better teachers, or because women are inferior or less intelligent [which isn't the case]. it is simply the way God designed the church to function. men are to set the example in spiritual leadership – in their lives and through their words. women are to take a less authoritative role. women are encouraged to teach other women [titus 2:3-5]. the bible also does not restrict women from teaching children.
the only activity women are restricted from is teaching or having spiritual authority over men..this logically would include women serving as pastors / preachers. this does not make women less important, by any means, but rather gives them a ministry focus more in agreement with how God has gifted them.

I certainly do. There have been several women pastors in the Methodist churches in my hometown. They are all very good.
There may be women pastors in other denominations as well, but I am unaware of it.

I do not feel it is a sin but I also don't agree with female pastors or priests.
Jesus chose 12 men... not women. Simple as that... tradition.
Merry Christmas!

I think it is ok for women to hold high positions in any church or congregation....i think that those who oppose it need to consider the fact that it is all a matter of personal perspective!
Look at Melissa Scott! I am a very loud and proud pagan and still listen to Melissa...she is very informative and has a way of explaining things in a way that is non-demeaning.
just my humble pagan thoughts..
