i normally dye my hair light blonde, but wanted to go a little darker so i bought a box of feria #72, "dark irdescent blonde" and even though it said this was a "warm" tone, it ended making my hair a nasty purple-greyish color. it looks horrible. i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what i could do to fix it besides going to the salon for color-correction (i would have gone there to dye it in the first place if i wasn't on such a tight budget; hence the $12 box of feria). would a semi-permanent work, like a darker more redish brown, or would that just mess it up even worse? i just have no idea how to fix this and man does it look awful.

Maybe you could call Sally's Beauty supply or go by there and ask them for some help. Or even call a beauty shop and ask for some advice...tell them your situation that you are kinda strapped for cash right now. But as soon as you can I would recommend going to a salon and getting it done. Maybe even go to your local beauty school, they do alot of things there and cheap too! I am sure that it would look better than it does now ( not meaning to be rude) but maybe the beauty school could offer affordable help! Give them a call

I hope this was helpful ~~
Good Luck with whatever you do !

Hum...Its not easy going from light blonde to dark blonde. Most box color from unprofessional stores will not tell you the base color or characteristic of the color. Like light golden brown. The base color of this is gold. You bought an ash or purple base. Go to your local salon to get it fixed and yes semi-permanent will work but be careful of the base colors in it. Buy something with red tone in it.

Call the Loreal hotline at 1-888-4-LOREAL and ask them what they recommend. Feria has some ingredients that don't mesh well with other box dyes so your best bet is to ask the expert on advice for color correction.

Definitely go a chocolate brown. It'll cover everything and give you your confidence back. No one likes going to the hairdressers after a mistake. L'Oreal has some really great chestnuts and chocolates. I don't think a semi would work. You'd have to go the permanent. Test a small section of your hair underneath first. Plus you won't get over how shiney it'll look

This happened to me when I was in beauty school. We used semi-permanent, actually like 3 of them and we still never got it completely corrected. I ended up having to cut the ends off. I would try the semi-permanent and then go from there.

My sister did that. On the box, there is contact numbers for people from the company e.g. loreal. Call them up, they have some recipe using baking soda and some other things, and can tell you how to get it darker in future.
DO NOT GO AND BUY A BROWN COLOUR!!!!!!!

try washing it a few times first. Sometimes it takes a few washings to get the true color (sometimes when i go light blonde it starts out yellow, but turns more blonde after a few days). If that doesn't work, you could try to color it again, but i'm not really sure what color to try or how it will turn out.

That happened to me once too. I tried to go darker but it turned green, so i luckily i knew someone really well that was a hairdresser that stripped the color for free. But my hair was damaged so i cut it off...try washing it with dawn soap...sounds weird, but my friend said it worked for her hair when she tried to put blond highlights in and her hair turned pink..good luck!

GO TO THE STORE AND BUY SOME DARK BROWN COLOR AND IT WILL GET IT DARKER BUT IT FIXES YOUR HAIR.
