Do you have any options? A brace? Surgery? If you haven't found out a real answer, don't give up! There's no reason for anyone to have to live in pain today.
I have optical nerve pain, and after seeing every kind of doctor imaginable, all agreed that drug therapy is the only way to go. So I've been on Morphene and Codeine for 9 years, and wouldn't have it any other way.
If you're living with 10 pain, and can't be helped, find a pain doctor who's not afraid to give you the meds you need.
I wish you the best of luck. :)

I have has the same in my back and neck. Try getting into physical therapy asap. They have many techniques to teach you for strengthening and helping with the pain. Other than that I suggest floating in a pool. It's aweome as the water takes all the weight off your spines and you are painfree. I used a physical therapisty that started me in a pool, until I built up enough stamina and strength to do regular excercise. For home care, rest, ice or heat packs, or both alternately help with the pain. I feel for you as the truth is you are in for some long term pain for a long while. Check out some books or internet sites for more insighht, and the importance of not letting it get you immobile. I wish you the best of luck, take good care of yourself! I had three of these in my neck creating a stenosis and pressing against my spinal cord. I started having seizures and a palsy like action in my arms. They had to go in and straighten out the vertebrae and fuse the bones.
