If your getting married
Would you get a prenup to prove that your both in it for love?
or would you go without prenup to show trust?

there's so much to consider...

That's a sure way to prove love, if she has no problem signing this then she really loves you. Trust and love goes together you can't have one without the other. So this also shows she trust you to love and treat her right the rest of her life.

I have been married twice. First time, which was 42 years ago, I had never heard of a pre-nuptual agreement. So obviously I married without one.

We divorced 15 years later. We were able to do it without a prenup and without killing each other. Our separation and divorce was reasonably equitable. We used grounds of unsustainability of the marriage.

My second marriage began 25 years ago. We did not accomplish a prenup because we agreed from the outset that we would stick it out whatever came along. We will remain married until one of us dies. I would say we trust each other.

I can't recommend what another person should do. That would have to be based on the preferences of the particular couple and their situation. I personally believe a couple that is committed to each other will not need a prenup. The wedding vows, in theory, should suffice.

"MY husband and I take marriage very seriously. It is a life long commitment, and thus doesn't require a prenuptial agreement."

That just sounds like if one of you cheats.. the other will tolerate it and resent you for engraving this statement into their brains throughout the early relationship. While you're sailing on that placid sea.. watch out for icebergs.

I don't think there is anything wrong with a prenuptial agreement. May want to ask yourself why you are so insulted by it...

MY husband and I take marriage very seriously. It is a life long commitment, and thus doesn't require a prenuptial agreement.

I would have been quite offended if my husband had asked for one actually.

However, in today's society it's quite normal to get one. If you have any shadow of a doubt that you may end things at some point with your spouse, and you'd like to protect your assets, then go ahead and get one, can't hurt to be prepared.
