EXACTLY!!
I John 3:16 Hereby perceive we the love [of God], because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down [our] lives for the brethren.
Lay down your life means to LIVE, everyday, in service to the Lord and His body. Amen! =]

If you've read Foxes Book a Martyers, you'll see that the struggles and deaths were more physical, the day and age we live in now, the battle is more mental. It's rare (if never) that in America, people can get away with torturing a personal physically for taking a stand, but there a lot of mental torment we endure. We need to gear up for the fight.

Hey Judo Chop, you're the nutbag. These answers are the truth, obviously, you don't believe in our God. I know, I have a ticket to heaven, you know why? Cause I would live and die for the man who died for me. He was the only perfect human on earth. He did follow his Father's will all the way through to his crusificion. Now what kind of man would do that? I will pray for you. God Bless

Judo Chop is right.
It's easy, like Peter, to declare you will die for Christ. But some people who say that compromise their faith everyday by being dishonest, unloving, or in other ways not obeying the teachings of Jesus.
I can honestly say I would hope I had the courage but I do not know if I do or not. No one does until the moment of decision.

I pray that if put in that situation that God would give me the strength not to deny Him.
I want to live in a way that I will be a living sacrifice for him, "Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship." (Romans 12:1)
Just a cautionary warning to all of you who are emphatic in your statements that you will never deny or betray Jesus. Peter walked with Jesus, he knew Jesus, he was the first to call Jesus the Messiah, and he was very emphatic that he would not do anything to bring disgrace to Jesus. Yet, when the gun was to his head (metaphorically speaking) he denied Jesus 3 times. Granted, he did repent and became a living sacrifice for Jesus, I just want to say, be careful in your statements. I know from too many personal experiences that those how are emphatic are the ones to bolt first.

Sorry... but I really don't think it's "in" me... and I think that God knows that and would never ask that of me. If He DID, then I guess He knows something I don't!!!
If you are speaking of persecutions, yes, they do still happen, even in THIS modern "day and age." I pray for them!
As Paul wrote, "For me to live is Christ, to die is gain." But even HE said that he should "stick around" so we do His will while we are here on earth.
Have a blessed day.

I would do anything for God and Christ. I can live believing, and so if it comes to it i will die believing and doing what i can to see the will of God done and the banishment of evil.

No I am not willing to die for Christ. What good does it do if I am dead. P.S. This question remind me of a certain sect of religion some where here in the USA ,members drunk poison to be save and go to paradise. What a waste of life especially the children.

I hate death because it takes away with it, my this human body, which has the necessary instruments to know God (Krishn to me).
I am not a Christian but I know who Christ is. Not many know!
I love Him.
