This might be a weird question but it has been on my mind for a while. I never smoked in my life and recently met this very sweet and nice girl. She smokes, like 4-5 per day. If we go further and end up kissing (like a heavy duty one) each other and if it gets repeated over and over, will the nicotine in her body transfer to mine through mixing our saliva, and in time I get tempted and start smoking?? -- I do NOT want to be a smoker ever. Please tell me what you think. Thanks!

find someone who doesn't smoke. i never thought about this, but i don't think it can work between a smoker and non-smoker. most non-smokers are that way because of the health risks. if non-smoker really care about the smoker that they're dating, they would encourage him/her to stop smoking. it's unlikely that the smoker would stop. my point is that smoking is a big factor in a relationship when a non-smoker is in the relationship.

do you really think you can kiss a girl with stinky breath? i don't even like being around smokers-they stink. yes, you all do.

Probably not, but one thing I noticed before I started smoking, when I hung out with my friends who smoked alot, I would feel really weird when I was away from them. All shaky and nervous, I couldn't figure it out until I started smoking and first got 'nicotine withdrawl'. It was the same feeling, only worse. I've never been to a doctor or anything over it, but my friends and I think it was second hand smoke withdrawl. Lol, sounds funny, I know...

I feel obliged though to tell you that starting smoking was the worst thing i've ever done, so GOOD CHOICE, and second hand smoke can kill too, so be careful and smart!

I dated a smoker for over a year. I did not like kissing him. It is like kissing an ashtray.

yes it will in the saliva, I am not sure how much it would hurt you since it isnt inhaled, but WHY settle for a walking ash tray if you are a non smoker? I think you could find a better girl that doesnt stink like soot....

You won't get any significant exposure through physical contact, even very close contact. You get some exposure from smoke residue on her hair and clothing - that would have health implications only if you were asthmatic, and you'd surely know by now.

Being with her when she smokes is likely to be the bigger problem.

If you are an officeworker, and die early
from ozonepoisoning from your laserprinter
than that smoking gal, - well you cant spray nicotin to deplet ozone in your officeroom,
so forget it.

in my experience (I'm a non-smoker and my bf smokes), kissing a smoker will make you not want to smoke.
