Good question. I think (opinion only) that people would rather risk the lives of their children and themselves than risk having their children molested. It seems to be the only answer that works. I don't understand the logic in it but that is the way it appears.

In Michigan there is a website where you can look up criminals, past and present. They should have something like that, because if somebody on my street killed someone I would want to know for sure!
