...than U.S. armories in the south at the time. Mexico "forcibly stole" those weapons from a European nation historically fearsome, militarily (Spain, for those who were wondering).
But Mexico's leadership was a straw hut. They had a dismal government from the very beginning. For example, in the 27 years after we won our independence from England, we had exactly 4 presidents.
Mexico went through FORTY administrations from 1821 to 1848!!! Including one emperor.
In 1848, that nation hired and fired 16 Ministers of Finance. Seeing a pattern?
They had the weapons and even the might to beat Spain. But, somehow, they were suddenly powerless when they decided to fire on the Alamo?

Pomona, by all means, elaborate a bit. Feel free to comment on the truth. Or even attempt to distort it, take it out of context, scuba dive in it, etc.

So true. The part that gets me most is Texas. She claimed her own independence before coming into the U.S. No one can ever say that Texas was stolen, that's for darn sure (Treaties of Velasco).
As far as CA, NM, and TX, Mexico got those as spoils from their war of Independence from Spain. So, its hypocritical to say that the U.S. is wrong to have gotten them as a result of the Mexican American War.
Again, you're dealing with people who enjoy selective and revisionist history.

You need to read some history of the war, The guerrilla war in the Occupation of Mexico, in the war There were !,500 KIA, and another 8,000 that died of wound and sickness, in the Occupation 4,800 Americans were killed and 2,800 captured and executed.
No matter what, the outcome was then. Right now as we speak California ,Texas and New Mexico are minority/Majority states, That means Anglos no longer are the majority population of those states, By 2050 the whole southwest will not have an Anglo majority. We are Back!

By observation: They have learned from their ancestors not to make any effort for their own freedom, only cry when things don't go their way.
The Mexican citizens far outnumber the Mexican leadership. They could easily overthrow their corrupt government. They could start by enlisting in their military and police forces. Then they could show others the proper and honorable path to a better life.
By flooding the military and police with honest, patriotic Mexicans, they could then easily control the government.

Texas and California won their own independence from Mexico and were independent nations for years before joining the United States. The idiots who claim we stole those states are just that, idiots who don't even know their history.
New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, and Utah were won in the Mexican American war, but we later paid them for those states even though we had already taken them as the victors prize. We owe Mexico nothing except the return of their trespassing citizens

BLA BLA BLA, We stole all the land from the Indians too, and basically killed off they're race as well. Its obvious that we didnt kill the mexicans off because they are like cock roaches in the streets of america. If you want to live here, go through the proper channels and do it right, and that goes for all persons who are here illegally! And If they want Texas And California back,,,let'em have it, Who Cares, Once the North American Union trickles in, it wont matter anyway!

Every body knows how money hungry Mexico is, they do anything for the mighty dolla, that is why they sold it to America. Now they're whining about wanting it back, Because you guys don't have the cojones to go against your corrupt gov. Don't worry it won't be too long before we wind up in the same place, If all these woosey polititions continue to delute the constitution like they are doing & continue to cater to Mexicans instead of protecting America.
