Just wondering. I've heard a few Sabres fans slandering him lately. I know he didn't have an ideal departure from Buffalo and he's the Isles coach now... but he was a great coach for the Sabres. So what's the general opinion of Ted down in Western New York?

Ok. I know what happened with Nolan BEFORE, I was just wondering how Sabres fans feel about him NOW.

I don't know about Buffalo, but he is very much missed in Moncton.

I'm not a Sabres fan. It just seemed to an outsider that Ted Nolan got a raw deal from the team. And I heard Sabres fan slander Nolan before he returned to coaching so it didn't start because he joined the Islanders.

But I guess it's just the way of the modern sports fan to consider most anyone that leaves a team is a sinner and anyone that joins a saint.

While I am no Buffalo Fan, I'm a ranger fan and i think Ted has done a great job with what he has been given. The things that Nolan has had to go through to get to his position would be enough for some to say screw this I'm done. However Nolan kept going and got back into hockey and got behind an ailing Isles bench and has, for the most part, and much to my dismay, done a great thing for the Islanders and their fans.

He gets points for being one of the only intelligent people in the Islanders management system.

Buffalo fans are finicky. The day Nolan was fired, they turned on him en mass. He was a great coach, but Hasek was a greater goalie. And when there are issues between a player and a goalie (and their immediate familes) the better of the two almost always wins.

They hate him, since he now coaching the Isles a rival of the Sabres, rivalry is just mutual.

I still love him. He's a good person. Most people I think still like him around Buffalo.

I always thought he was a good coach when he was here. And as much as I love Lindy, that man had the coif to end all coifs.
