I am told if you do this you will be taken care of - all will be handed onto you. What does it mean? Because I really would like to do this but am unsure how.

How do I put God first. Prayer? Going to church? Define how someone would put God first? Try to explain it to someone - as if they are brand new and never heard of God. If you have to get down to a basic level then get basic but explain it as if someone has no idea what the concept of putting God first means. Thanks.

Is it possible to look deeper beyond this - what other things could be handed onto us - by seeking God first? Could He hand other things to us? Not just here as you see in the material world but more - like power in your words - not talking magic here - just thinking there is more to be had - than what is visible.

Sandra - yes you are right. Would this be called Wisdom? Previous to my stumble in my walk - I was getting LOTS of messages from God. Much more then just through friends, songs, books, etc.

shabdama - I appreciate your contribution and wanting to help. However I checked out the Egyptian - Ecknar(sp) website - singing "Hu" and it absolutely does NOT feel right. If God wanted us to learn this He would have let us know this when He had the Holy books written. Something so simple as singing a word or phrase I am sure He would have included in His writings. You know the devil can deguise himself as an "angel" of light.

i think it means to make God the most important thing in your life. and to do it by studying the bible and praying to find out what He wants from you. if you do this with all your heart, yes He will take care of you, bless you, protect and provide for you. but it doesn't mean everything will land in your lap. you are still responsible to make wise decisions. take care of your health, work to pay your bills, etc. you still have to work for what you want and put in all the necessary effort to obtain whatever you want or need physically. hope that makes sense. in my life, putting God first has meant different things depending on what phase i am in (for example single or married). we'll use single because it is simpler. when i was single, i prayed about what job He wanted me to have and i went to interviews and chose the first one i was offered because i liked it. if i met someone i liked i went out with him, but i also prayed that if God wanted me in the relationship He would let it work out and if not, that it wouldn't work out. and basically i would say it is like that for every decision i have to make. i pray about it, continue to do the things i know are wise and see how it works out. however it works out i trust that it is best for me. while doing all of this i also continue to read and study the bible. and fellowship with others who believe the same as i do. so far in my life this system has worked well. i am now happily married with kids. i get to stay home with them. we have what we need. we are content and blessed.

You are here on earth and the reason the scripture says, "seek ye first the Kingdom" is because the eternal Kingdom of Christ has, is, and will always be in the eternal future which is in the EAST. Because the governing authority that governs ANY kingdom is the King, NO ONE ever turns their back on any King while in the Presence of the King. For us on earth, when we "live naturally in the flesh" our backs have always been turned against the kingdom of Christ from birth. This is because of the fall of Adam and "his seed" and we are still on THIS SIDE of the actual cross which is Lucifer's Kingdom. With the Kingdom of Christ on the opposite side, you can see WHY It is written Seek ye first the Kingdom. Christians fail this VERSE miserably. In the left wing, Christians NEVER seek the Kingdom for how to vote or anything. They "seek" Democrats etc etc etc. And are always begging in the flesh! Christians in the right wing have the right idea because only the Republican wing FACES EAST and the American people can that the Founding Fathers "faith" in Christ for that! Lastly, seeking the Kingdom is led by the Holy Spirit to TURN and do anything else is led of the flesh and that includes eating NATURALLY. Even to do that, we should seek the Kingdom first and give thanks to th King.

To do this one must know how to go to the inner kingdom.
just close your eyes and fill yourself with Love. Love dispels
fear. Take a few deep breaths ,clear the cobwebs and sing the name of your Matrix for god slowly and loveingly. You can also practice his presence at this time. I prefer to sing the word.... HU.... on the out breath for only a few minutes.
Now be silent for a while and look into the inner screen,
you may hear beautiful sounds or different colors may appear.
Do this for about twenty minutes a day tops. Ask the inner master before sleep to give you the dream teachings. The
spiritual senses will begin to open up. There is no wasted time on the inner even if your mind says nothing happens.
Your own personal inner temple will begin to open up and manifest in ways only for you. But you will become the knower and Seeker by going direct beyound the books and parables. This is a way to the Kingdom of God!

In everything you do, do it in such a way that it will honor God and bring you closer to him.
For example in the work that you do: do it well and choose a work that will honor God (don't become a stripper, or a bar tender because the nature of the job leads others into sin).
All won't be handed to you, but you will get what you need. Including needs that can't be filled any other way. You may not get a Rolls, but rather a bike, however, you will be at peace with yourself, God and the world.

It means to go and ask God first in whatever you do. He will always give you an answer. You do this by asking and talking to God in prayer. He will always reveal to you the answer only when you ask. The answer could come in many different forms or ways. So always keep your ears and eyes open to what His answer will be for you. Like God can speak to you through a friend, song on the radio etc.

"All good things work together for good to them that love God"...
You love God If you firmly trust Him to be the Master of your life, if He is your priority more than anything else in this world.
He can see through our hearts desire being an omniscient God.
Without whining and murmurings, struggling to follow His footsteps.
Surely it is not that easy but God is Faithful to enable you in His perfect time in accordance to His Divine plan.
Your inquiry is your first step and a sign of a Godly intention.
May The Lord richly bless you in faith...

The verse is telling you that you should not worry about your needs. If you trust in God, they will be given to you. Jesus said this and also said, that if you cannot change one minute of time, how would you expect to change anything else. This verse is telling you that by seeking God and his instructions for right living. All else that you would need or want will be given to you if it is right and for your highest good. It is telling you to pursue a
Holy ( Whole I ) Life and the kingdom of God will become nearer to you as you become nearer to God.

There are many answers here and most of them are definitely right on the mark. However i feel compelled to round out or complete what others have missed. We 'christians' are but the branch of the jewish root and should shun the americanization of the word of God, the pagan religious practices that are falsely associated with God. We are grafted onto the branch of this root and Father calls us the vine.
The word Yahudaim means 'people of God' and 'God' is a title. His name is Yahweh and we are to consider ourselves as his family or 'the yahudaim'. If you know him then you call him by his name. Same with the Christ. 'Christ' is a title, it means "annointed" or "annointed one" '(Christos in Latin) if you know him then your relationship goes beyond deferential respect of office. For the Christ is named Yahshua. "Yah" being or meaning "God" and shua meaning "of" in complete order it means "of God".
So take your relationship one step closer and call him by his name when you call him, waking in the morning and asking him what he wants you to do this day (giving firstfruits), asking him to go before you, talking to him during the day and thanking him for bringing you through your day while protecting you from dangers both seen and unseen, forgiving you of your sins both known and unknown.
In short, a gradual and complete surrender of self. This takes time and practice and it comes out of love for him. "All things will be added unto you" is the actual wording. Not 'handed to you' big difference.

Imagine that you have two voices inside your head. One is dramatic and entertaining while the other one only whispers and you have to strain to hear. The first voice only tells you half-truths or bits and pieces while the second knows everything, is never wrong, and never lies. How would you learn to tune out the noisy one and pay attentionto the gentle voice?
