I am a 20 year old female: 5'5" and 168 pounds. I would ideally like to be 125. Ever since my junior year of high school, when I lost 15 pounds in Phys-Ed during our "running" section, I've been wanting to lose the rest of the weight.

When I graduated in 2005 I was about 170. I gained 15 pounds last winter (around Nov-Dec) bringing me up to about 185 pounds. My family planned a trip to Hawaii this past summer, and I wanted to reach my goal of 125 before our trip in August. I dropped 20 pounds in about 2 months - not even sure how I did it. However, it stopped.

Since the Hawaii trip I've purchased a membership at my community gym. I work out 30 minutes to an hour Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and sometimes Friday and Sunday. I feel this is a decent amount of work out time (30 mintes of cardio and 20 or so of lifting) and yet I'm not seeing any results.

I've been working out on this schedule SOLID for a month and have only lost 3 pounds.

Any advice - 40 pounds in 3-4 month!?

Try eating foods high in potein. It sounds like your on a plateau so you should eat 1/2 a grapefruit and a boiled or poached egg for breakfast and chicken breast and spinach and 1/2 a grapefuit for dinner preferrably accompanied by 1 cup of lettuce..This should jump start your metabolism and get you on the right track..
Remember to drink plently of water..

Well, you need to be less concerned with pounds and more concerned with inches. You are working out, which adds muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat, so you may actually gain weight initially.

Look at what other factors contribute you not losing weight. Diet? What are you eating, when are you eating. try switching from 3 meals a day to 6 smaller meals a day. It will keep your metabolism going all day long, burning more calories. Look at how you are preparing your food. Using less oils, butter, cream stuff, etc . will make a difference.

But your goal weight may be too low. If your goal is unrealistic, it doesn't matter what you do, you will never get there.

Hi Erin.. I might recommendation anybody not to even suppose of seeking to lose over 30% of frame weight in whatever like 2 months! First off that might be a enormous surprise in your procedure and would make you very ill afterward. Secondly your frame might consider that it used to be ravenous, and so then while the hunger ended (and it might have got to!) it might retailer each and every little bit of it is vigour in case hunger comes again. It shops vigour as FAT of path. You might be fine to invite a Doc approximately how a lot you'll realistically anticipate to lose and the way rapidly. Starvation diets are a wellbeing crisis within the making! Careful, healthful nutrition and tons of well recreation is the one method to get it off and KEEP it off. Gym paintings is well. Swimming might be even larger. Especially in COLD water (your frame burns tons of vigour simply maintaining hot) More importantly you'll best seem attractive in case your healthful. Good Luck :)

It is good that you are exercising, but you need to monitor what you eat.
Try NutriSystem.
I used it last Feb and March and lost 20 pounds, which I have kept off.
You need to eat several meals a day that are controlled (1000 - 1200) calories a day, and move, that's how you lose weight in a healthy way.
Good luck.
