someone told me i might have social anxiety. they kinda explained it to me too. i mean i get horrible stomach cramps when ever i have to walk in front of people. i can't speak in front of a large groups of people (like for a presentation) without getting the urge or actually throwing up. i blush or turn bright red when i think people are looking at me
(like when standing in line). and sometimes when they call on me, or kinda put me on the spot, my heart starts pounding, and i get kinda light headed. and i can never look a person in the eyes when talking to them.
so i'm just wondering could i have social anxiety?

sounds like you do.
at least from personal experience I don't know anything that helped me. I didn't realize it till I was around 27..28.
Giving more speeches in class or in front of people won't help most people.
I took 2 different meds for a little less than a month, but the sexual effects were garbage so the hell with that. I do better these days. I think getting older helped me and in some situations I just make myself think...."who cares"
I still am not planning on making speeches.
Hopefully you'll find an alternative to pills though if you do end up getting diagnosed with social anxiety.
There are some people that are way off and do need some kind of meds though

Sounds like it. I have SAD too and it was the worst in High School. Every day I would have stomach cramps at school, and I hated walking down the hall way or across the lunch room. I missed school a lot because I got so physically ill thinking about going to school and being with all those people. Know what I did? I auditioned for a play. It was like the craziest thing I ever made myself do, but I got cast and then started being a regular in the drama dept. and even joined an improv troupe. You have to keep reminding yourself that nobody REALLY CARES about what you look like, what you're doing, what you're wearing. That everyone's probably thinking more about what THEY'RE doing/look like/wearing and what everyone thinks about them! Push yourself a little every day to be more social and to do things you wouldn't normally do and eventually you'll be doing all sorts of stuff that would embarrass you to death. ;)

Sounds to me that u may be low in confidence... usually social anxiety will get in the way of normal day to day tasks as well...like going to the shops, being in a large crowd of people or even taking the rubbish out... people with SA often avoid these situations altogether...just keep an eye on it..there are people out there to help u...

Sounds like you do. The best way to get over that is to take speech classes, get involved in some sort of activity with other groups. The more you are made to socialize, the more comfortable you will become with other people.
