i'm 17- 18 in a couple of weeks-- i went through a messy divorce a few years ago-- its still going on even though finalized after 1.5 years in court--- i've moved in with my grandparents and dad-- i'm doing well in school- 90 average overall (senior)--- i've had legititamate jobs since i was 15.

i've had a girlfriend for 2 years (2 weeks away from full 2 years) and we've been through everything you can imagine except pregnancy scares- blackmail- wedding- and living together

we both want a future together after college but it seems too far away-- it seems like we should start now

is it wrong that i feel like i'm 25 when i'm almost 18? is this me being immature or too mature?

You've heard people complain that their kids gave them gray hair? The principle is the same. People who have "lived through" heavy duty stress do feel that it ages them.

The perception of time for a person under 25 can be said that they feel pressured that things must be "now", because the "future" seems so far off.

From the other side of the age spectrum - get your college or established in your trade. Let your girl do the same. You'll be better suited for a long marriage at 25. Here's the alternative: Not owning your own home, or saving for retirement or vacations. By your 25th birthday you'll be standing at the elementary school, waiting for your child to get out of school.
You've made a responsible start with job and grades. Keep on going and establish yourself even more before taking on a wife and all the emotional stress of marriage.

No, it isn't wrong to feel that way. I think you've had a difficult life so far, and that tends to make you a lot more mature than you would be otherwise. If the two of you really want to get married now, and if you have a reasonable plan to take care of daily necessities, then there's no reason why you shouldn't go ahead.

Wait you are 17 and went through a divorce a FEW years ago? How old were you when you got married and then you have a girlfriend of two years not?? You need to go out and enjoy life you are still a kid ( for the next few weeks anyway)

You've experienced a lot for someone of your age, so it is only natural to feel older than you are.
