So my friend has this odd rash. Started with a small spot on his left leg. It just looks a little dry, but not very noticeable. He says it's usually fine, but if it itches and a scratches it, it feircly itches more. This appeared about 2 months ago, and now there is another spot on the other leg, where his legs touch.
He has no insurance, scabies has been suggested, but I really don't think that's it. It doesn't seem to be very contagious, as it hasn't spread much and no one else has caught it from him.

Thanks!

Get a laser and burn it off. He could go to a free clinic look in the phone book.

In most cities, there are free clinics. Just search through the phonebook or you can even call your local hospital and ask them. I hope your friend is okay. Tell him not to scratch. I know it is easier said than done. To relieve the itching, have your friend take a bath with baking soda. Sounds strange, I know, but it will help. If you do not have baking soda, then try crushed up oatmeal.

possibly contact dermatitis, which obviously comes from something your body comes in contact with that causes a reaction, has he tried everything as far as changing his soaps, detergents, etc. You would think that it would effect your whole body if it was one of those things, but thats not always the case. I am allergic to a certain detergent, only under my arms. I am allergic to metal, everywhere except my face. So he should maybe start changing things one by one, and seeing if anything helps. he could also try heavy duty hydrocortisone cream. It could also be eczema. or a number of other things really, so he should try for medicaid or other health options, if nothing seems to get it to go away.

is it kinda of in a RING like form??? because it could be ringworm... if you have no idea look up what that is. I had it once... it started on my inner thigh it was really small in a shape of a ring like thing and itched alot.... sooner or later it got REALLY bad and when i meen sooner or later it was actually a while... and it started spreading at my legs and then just eventually everywhere... i HAD to go to the DR, because it got so bad.... he had to give me ORAL medication. IF this sounds like something he has though... there is some stuff if you look at your local drugstore... its like ointment for ringworm, and you just apply it to wear the spot is and keep applying it... eventually it will go away... if it doesnt then he should DEF go tot a dr then.. casue maybe like my case.. oral controseptivves are the onlything that will work for him.
oh and if it is ringworm... it can be contageous.. but when i had it my bf didnt get it and i had it bad!!! so i dont know...

I believe that he has developed a rash from constant abrasions. Check whether or not he has clothing that is not right for him. It could also be an allergies to clothes

Try a fungus cream from Walgreens. It might say it's used for athlete's foot or jock itch but it works. Just try it.
