depends on where he is stationed, what the waiting list( it can be as long as 2 years or longer) and how many bedrooms he is entitled to, as well as paygrade and what they offer. could be any one of the types you mention.

honestly, i appreciate any housing i get in the air force. I don't pay rent, utilities, if something goes wrong, i call housing maintenance and they fix it....as for the quality of it, depends on where you go. Some bases have really old housing and some have built new ones. I stayed at Eielson AFB in alaska, and i had a two bedroom, one and half bath. Three floors, with a full basement and yard and garage...and it was considered the worse, in comparison to the newer housing, which were gorgeous. Currently, i'm at Cannon AFB, and this house is even better than the last one.--three bedroom, 2 baths, front and fenced back yard. Plus, housing depends if you're enlisted or officer, what rank you are, how many dependents you have, i.e. children. There are also waitlists to get on base housing, which again, depends on how large the base is, what your rank is...You also have the option of staying off base (we did in Oklahoma, and we got a one bedroom town home), which they pay for, called BAH--but amount of money they give you depends on your location--and you have to factor in paying utilities.
Hope this helped.

Depends on where you are stationed, what's available and if it's privatized. If it's a company like Picerne the housing is ok but the rob you blind with the price you pay for that housing.

It all depends on your rank and where you are stationed. My sis and her husband have always had decent homes (no garages though, just carports), but he is an officer.
You always have the option of living off-base.
