The recruiter told me that after basic, depending on how long his tech school was I may be able to go with him. Is this true? He said if it was 20 weeks or more I could, but I read another answer and they said 26 weeks. WHICH IS IT???

AFI 36-2110 says 20 weeks....depending on his career field, you may not want to go...Do you know what his AFSC is yet?

You cannot go to Tech school with your husband. You cannot join him until he is at a permanent station. (Yes, recruiters lie.)
The length of Tech school depends on the MOS. It can vary widely and some can even depend on how fast you learn. He should know after Basic.
(This is from experience that is 20 years old but I'm pretty sure it hasn't changed.)

In general, unless his tech school is more than 6 months in length, you would not be able to join him. Most career fields have shorter tech schools, so very few spouses are together during this portion of training. I would plan on not living together until all his training is done and you get orders.

generally speaking..26 weeks(6 months). individual schools have different policies. you can pretty much depend that at 20 weeks most will say no, you can't move.

I know wives that have gone with their husbands to their tech school, but it is not preferable. He will know when he gets there if you can come or not. But even if you do, he wont have much time to spend with you and you will be in a city where you don't know anyone.

It is 26 weeks but even then it has to be approved by his chain of command
