I highly recommend visiting www.mormon.org or www.lds.org. These sites provide an easy way to learn about our basic beliefs.

This link is to our articles of faith. The children of the church often memorize these. They are a good introduction to some of the basics.

Here are a few thoughts for you:

We believe in God the Father, Jesus Christ the Savior, and the Holy Ghost.
We have a church organized like the one Christ organized with a prophet, apostles, etc.
We believe in living the principles of the Gospel (daily personal and family scripture study and prayer, keeping the commandments, being kind to others, serving others, sharing the gospel with others).
We have strong moral values (no drinking, smoking, pre-marital sex, total fidelity after marriage, strong families, etc).

We recognize that we will still be sinners after all that we can do and that it is only through Jesus Christ that we can find eternal life.

We also believe that it is each members responsibility to learn what we believe and gain their own personal testimony of its truthfulness through prayer and the inspiration of the Holy Ghost.

I have done this and try my best each day to follow Christ's example and teachings. It has brought me great peace and happiness.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

The positive replies given thus far are most clear about the LDS faith. To clarify, the Holy Ghost, the third Holy Entity of the Godhead, is a male spirit. There is no she or it to describe Him. It is He, the Holy Ghost, that manifests all truth of the Godhead and of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

It is this same Spirit of God that can reach into the hearts of man and proclaim, instill, and plant the seeds of truth--whether it be that Jesus is the Lord and Savior or the truth that the Book of Mormon is another testament of the Savior.

It is this same Holy Ghost that is our Comforter and we, the members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, are confirmed so and will receive the gift of the Holy Ghost to dwell with us--if we remain true to our covenants.

As mentioned previously, log on to lds.org for more in-depth coverage of the beliefs pertaining to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormonism) is a beautiful Christian religion. You should be extremely careful when trying to learn about Mormons from others. There are many who hate the Mormons and spread lies, distortions, and conspiracy theories about them. Others think they understand Mormon doctrine because of "what they've heard," but are actually misinformed.

Because Mormons are Christian, we believe in most of the things that Christians believe, including:

1) Christ is divine and salvation comes only through Him.
2) The Bible is the word of God.
3) Men ought to love one another.

Mormons are a unique branch of Christianity, however. We are neither Catholic nor Protestant, so naturally we have some different beliefs. Most of the differences are minor. One significant difference has to do with the authority to act in God's name. Mormons believe that soon after the death of Christ and His apostles, the early Christian Church was greatly influenced by Greek and Roman philosophies and political pressures. Despite the efforts of many good men and women, the true Church of Christ was eventually lost because of these outside pressures and internal, man-made changes. Mormons believe that God reestablished the original Church of Christ in 1820 through a man named Joseph Smith.

Hope this helps! Mormon Christianity has changed my life by helping me better follow Jesus Christ. Good luck with your research!

Well, there is a lot about our religion and I'm not sure exactly what you are interested in.

We have 4 sacred books. The Bible, The Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and The Pearl of Great Price.

We believe Jesus is the son of God, but that Jesus and God are two separate beings. We also believe in the Holy Spirit, but believe he/she/it is separate also.

We believe there is a living prophet on the earth who received revelation from God for the entire world.

We believe in doing missionary work(as I'm sure you know).

We have 13 articles of faith. Found here http://scriptures.lds.org/a_of_f/1

www.lds.org and www.mormon.org are great websites. Also, http://www.jefflindsay.com/LDS_Intro.shtml has a lot of info on misconceptions about Mormons.

If you have any specific questions, you can email me by going to my profile and clicking on the link to my email.

Peter Priesthood has answered very well. It's amazing how quickly people jump to the same old arguments even though they have been answered hundreds of times before.

Jeff Lindsay has some great stuff on his site for answering these naysayers.
