M-1 Garand, if you don't believe me look up Gen.George S. Patton and sees what he had to say about the M-1 rifle

You forgot the M-1 carbine, The first US assault rifle. Lightweight, magazine fed, easy to shoot. Lacks a bit of power, but it was the favorite US weapon of the German Army! (when they captured them)

I do love the M-1 Garrand. It's such a great rifle. It has features on it no one has copied in 60 years, and it's still a performer!

Your favorites are all great rifles, except the PPSh, it was never really reliably, but evil weapons when they worked. I've heard horror stories from both ends of the barrel from the battle for Berlin, mainly about Russians that hosed down stone basements with an entire mag, only to find pieces of women and kids sprayed all over the walls.

My favorite is still the Browning M-2 .50 caliber, and her little brother the .30 cal M-1917A4. You just can't argue with that kind of kick azz! Field Marshall Herman Goering said, "The Battle for Britain may have gone a bit differently if the Luftwaffe had had the .50 caliber machine gun."

M1 Garand - accurate, true semi-auto.

Lee Enfield - accurate, reliable, easy to operate.

MP 43/44 - a little late to the war, but the forerunner of the assault rifle.

BAR - Powerful, but a bit heavy. Semi-auto / Full auto

MG42 - light machine gun.

HOWDY!!! Darth,

I have two choices The 45 and the M1 Garand. The M1 Garand was a heavy weapon to carry.

STAY SAFE!!!

The m1 Garand won the war for us in Europe. While our enemies primary weapon was a bolt action ours was the first fully issued semi auto infantry weapon. We could have almost the entire clip empty before the enemy could get their second shot off.
