It is not. Saturday is, just as observed still by the Jews. The Roman Catholic Church changed it, there is not one scripture that says it changed to Sunday. Prrof is in an article on the page below called, "Catholic Practices".

you could try going to evening services;-)
i think the jewish concept of the sabbath as a time to rest and renew is a much better take on it than what christianity has evolved into. ("christianity has evolved over the years"...i heard that in a church service one day and almost made it out of the sanctuary before cracking up...almost. i did try though.)
sunday for christians seems to be more of an educational and social experience. valuable in its way, but not a sabbath, not a time of rest and renewal, not a day of withdrawing from the world and getting in touch with the quiet always present sacred. try designating a day of your own as your sabbath, and protecting it fiercely. and if you want to go chat and have bible study, go to church-i don't think it's god's address, but there are some nice busy people who will feel obligated to be very nice to you...

God, in The Bible (Exodus - 10 Commandments), gave us the 7th day to rest. This day is to be used for worship, Bible study, and prayer, not just laying around in bed, watching TV, or going to the movies. No work for man or animals, no monetary transactions, etc. If you had an animal that was in trouble, it was OK to tend to it. It is a day in which In ancient times Saturday was actually the sabbath day, not Sunday.

Sunday is not the holy day. The sabbath is Friday night sundown, to saturday night sundown. That's the true christian holy day that God said to keep holy. Gathering with others isn't considerd work. Like labor. You have to walk or drive to get from one place to another and there is nothing wrong with that.

It was G*D's Day of Rest, we are supposed to celebrate.
The commandment says "Keep Holy the Sabbath."
We are restrained from working for financial gain.

You only have it half right. Sunday is a day of rest, but it is also a day of worship. If getting up early is not for you, find an afternoon service.

God says in Exodus 20:8-11 - Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 - Six days shalt thou labour, and do all they work: 10 - But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor they son, nor they daughter, thy manservant, thy maidservant, nor thy cattle that is within thy gates: 11 - For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
The reason why Roman Catholics have made Saturday their sabbath is because they still go by the OT. In the NT, Christ's death fulfilled the seventh day of rest because HE rested on the first day of the week by being raised from the dead on the first day of the week.
Hebrews 4:3-11 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. 4 - For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. 5 - And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest. 6 - Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: 7 - Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. 8 - For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. 9 - There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. 10 - For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. 11 - Let us labour therefore to enter inot that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
Acts 20:7 - And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.

That's not what "rest" means. Sunday is a day or rest (from work) and worship.
