No, but not for the reason you think.

Omnipotent does not mean "able to do anything". It means "able to do all that is within your will do do". God, by is nature, is not able to lie, or sin, or, as you suggest, deny himself.

The inability to engage in logical absurdities has nothing to do with a lack of power. God couldn't cease to be God because it would be a violation of the law of identity.

Being omnipotent means having the power to do all things logically possible.

For any reasonable definition of omnipotent, yes.

If you're interested, there're any number of works of fiction that centered on the plotline "omnipotent/divine being chooses mortality." Examples include a Star Trek:Voyager episode, the video game Lunar: Silver Star Story, and of course plenty of prose.

God is omnipotent and he can do anything within what is His character, and it is not His character to elect not to be God anymore.

This question deserves no answer. It is the same as asking Can God create a rock so big He cannot lift it? Can God will Himself out of existence.

It is a trap and not a genuine question. So it does not deserve a genuine answer.

The bible would want to say no, but i'll ask you this:
Could God create a boulder he cannot lift? Oh wait i think you recognize it...posting questions from random atheist books (aka Ed harris' "end of faith") on yahoo to annoy people. I'm atheist too, but seriously WTF.

No.
Theologically, "omnipotent" doesn't mean "capable of anything."

No. He also can not commit sin. God is not a job title, it describes His nature. Can you change your human nature?
