Although we join forces to help out the needy in third world countries, I have come to the conclusion that we forget about our neighbors. I feel moved by the Lord to open up a no-charge clothing shop to the public. As I began my research, for my proposal, I found few shops, and the shops I did find have eligibility requirements. So my question is, "What happens to those who need, but are not eligible?" "Who are we to put requirements on those who need?" "Would you rather donate your clothes to a resale shop or a mission shop such as the one I am looking to open?" I would appreciate your feed back answering any or all of my questions. Your comments are also appreciated. Thank you in advance and may God keep you.

All the homeless shelters I have contacted do not have the space to hold donations. They will be cited by the fire department if they take the donations.

People don't need handouts, they need a handup. The Goodwill is good becuase the clothes are resold at a deeply discounted price and the $$$ goes back into the community.

Your question sort of confuses me, but I'll try and cover all the bases. If you are donating, YWCA's sometimes have clothes boutuiqes for women looking for work. As someone who has been on both sides, I must say that St. Vincent de Paul, and House of the Carpenter are good. the local House shop gives for free, mind you some donations go to helpers first. Look up a homeless shelter and just give them bags to go thru!! Im embaressed to say it but after my abuse I got over my shame quickly and going thru the bags got to be sort of fun...look up shelters and domestic violence shelter, there is alwyas need,

Don't take donations...? How odd? Look outside your county.

I would rather donate to a mission shop because that is the only way to ensure that everything goes to those in need. From experience I know that a lot of resale shops staff skim off the best for themselves, which is why I refused to work in any of them. God bless you, I hope it works out for you.

Greetings, there is not any longer some thing of evidential fee on your question and its premise. It consists of in basic terms your man or woman opinion of the genuine Christian employer. and because that your opinion is depending totally on your man or woman bias and not in any respect on any Scriptural or logical data then we are able to easily overlook about your opinion. yet, this kind of argumentation in basic terms shows how susceptible your position is. this is amazingly sparkling that you've followed the usual practice of those who oppose Witnesses this is to maintain away from doctrinal topics that could be shown or disproved by ability of the Bible. this is because they don't forget that we do educate the Bible if you should in basic terms modern-day emotive arguments and biased and pretend evaluations about our practices. when we see how susceptible, unreasonable, illogical, and downright pretend such opposing arguments are then we are even better confident that we've the fact and are area of the Christ's genuine "Church" immediately (Dan.12:3; Mt.13:39-40 3). Jehovah's Witnesses furnish irrefutable data that they are the present Christian Congregation by ability of their strictly following Scriptural fact and by ability of their fruitage (Mat.7:16-19; Jn.13:34,35). All Witnesses do is to ask others to do a similar, significantly study your beliefs in user-friendly of the obtrusive and express practise of Scripture and the data contained in the movements of your faith and its members, then opt to adhere to Christ heavily (Rom.10:a million-3; Eph.a million:17). Yours, BAR-ANERGES

Most churches have a benevolence room where people can go and get donated clothing for free.
