Do you have any evidence that you weren't speeding? If you say you were only going 45 you are still admitting to speeding 10 MPH. That will get the fine knocked down, but not dismissed.
You won't be able to "get out of it" that easy.

You have a couple of options here.
1) Be a man .. and pay for the ticket :-)
2) Take your chances. Contest the cop. Go to the court
If the cop doesnt turn up
you would win
Else
you would lose even if you say you are 10 miles over
Else
you produce evidence you were going 35 mph(which you cant prove because thats a lie)
End if

With the combined error on your speedometer and the radar, a 5 mph discrepancy is not unusual. Even if you do manage to prove that you were going at 45, you were still speeding, so you can't beat the ticket. I seriously doubt if the penalty for driving 15 over the limit is more than 10 over.

No, slow down.
Pay the fine and learn your lesson. Be a man and stop trying to avoid the penalties for your decision to drive too fast.
45mph vs 50mph it's your word against his and you are still admitting to speeding.
You can avoid the fines by not speeding.

you have admitted to speeding the 5 mile an hour difference could be due to your tires ( your speedometer will be off if you have oversize tires)
