John 20:30 The disciples saw Jesus do many other miraculous signs in addition to the ones recorded in this book. 31 But these are written so that you may continue to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing in him you will have life by the power of his name.

Actually, when I am in the bookstore, wandering through the aisles, I see the self-help section, you know, Dr Phil and all those guys (Takes up a mongo floor space in the store) and I think, these guys make millions of dollars writing books that people wouldn't need if they would just follow the admonitions of God.

So, yeah, I don't buy too many self-help books, and if I do, I look through the first chapter and then end up giving it to someone.

I really do not know how I am supposed to answer this...... all anyone, Christian or not can do is to tell you the *truth* as they see or know it... I am Christian, Child of God, Bride of Christ, Body of Christ, all names given to us, believers, in the Bible..... I was not raised a strict Christian, was NOT forced into anything either, I turned from God for many years because of personal and tragic things of my youth... I came back to God, or returned, however you wish to state it, in my early 30's, there for ppl can NOT say I was brainwashed by any means..... The Bible , to any Christian IS the blue print to a great, graced, wonderful, happy, blessed, joyfull, meaningfull life, we have NO other source from which we get our truths or beliefs or faith or doctrine..... We walk and live by and in faith that, Jesus died, was buried and arose.... all the other *religion* is added unto and into each religious Church House.......I guess I have a label, Child of God, and I will NOT give up that label for any one.... I pray for all of my fellow human partners on this earth...... They will believe or not, I can NOT turn them, it is NOT my job.... but, again I say this, the Bible is a Christians blue print instruction book to life and faith, wrong and right...... go in peace........ God bless

the only way to answer that is to read the Book, I have always called myself a Christian, and now I have been studying the Bible and have found so many answers to my troubled life. when I'm broke and count change for gas and pray for more work IT ALWAYS COMES AT THE LAST MINUTE
so when that happens I Rejoice, that because I AM GETTING A LESSON FROM ABOVE, when I lose a job it is getting me ready for my next blessing
and those who pray to the Lord and follow Him are rewarded now and in the after life

amen

The truth is no one knows the absolute truth.

There is a saying, "He who says he knows, does not know. He who says he does not know, knows."

It is not possible to know the awesome nature of God. This is taught in all Holy Text including but not limited to the Torah, Bible, Quran and the Bhagavad Gita.

With that said each of the Holy text is a path to attainment.

There are layers and layers of deeper meaning to all scripture. It is the nature of Holy text. It then is a funny paradox, the ones who are satisfied that they know the absolute meaning to any scripture only blocks themselves to the deeper truths contained within.

But are they really that different from you or me?
We all are but on the path of life to learn.

Blessings and peace to all,
All in all,
B

Because most of them don't bother to read their little book. If anything, they read parts of it that someone points out to them, and skim over the really bloody and hateful parts. Unfortunately you can't require a person to know what a religion is before they claim to practice it.

It's more than one book, and it's not a little collection.

Your last statement seems to narrow you down to either an Eastern Philosophical religion, a form of New Age spirituality, or some pagan form of worship.

Why don't you read the King James Bible for yourself and find out what it really say?

Just start reading from the book of John. Really, what could it hurt?

No, the fullness of truth is contained in His Church. The Bible states very clearly that it contains only a small portion of Christ's teaching.

In Christ

The Holy Spirit that lives within us from believing in Jesus Christ as our Savior. We most definitely don't have all the answers. Only God does. We find the answers through His word and through prayer.
