Muscle definitely weighs more than fat, so, yes, a person could be slim and fit but still weigh a lot. And it's nearly impossible for a 5'8" muscular person to weigh 100 lbs. That's not healthy. At all.

Working out does not make you look huge, depending on how you work out. Weight training builds bulk muscle, but stretching and holding poses (yoga, Pilates) builds lean muscle.

A muscular person with the same build as an unfit person (same dress size, for example) will weigh more than the unfit person.

I hope I helped.

Yes, a skinny person can weigh a lot because they have a high body fat. And yes, a person can weigh a lot and be a small size because they have a high muscle to fat content. Working out only makes you look huge if you are a man or if you are woman who works out and takes male hormone supplements, which many women bodybuilders do. Working out probably will not make you weigh more in the end because women are not capable of building huge, dense muscles unless they take hormones.

actually there are many workouts you can do that make you look more slim than muscular weight actually doesnt matter one bit as long as you are healthy however and not to sound harsh but 5'8 and 100 pounds is a ridiculous weight and to be honest anyone who achieves this probably has an eating disorder and most definitly looks discusting that is very unhealthy a good weight (thin but not unhealthy) for someone who is 5'8 would be between 140 and 150 pounds this would be considered a very thin person and weighing any less at that height is actually considered unhealthy by doctors and almost every man that i know would find that unatractive however working out is very good for you and while muscle weighs more than fat being toned trim and healthy is much better than being active and having a little weight on you there are many workouts designed not to make you look bigger in the way that a man does when he works out your local gym or even you doctor can help you with this

Really skinny people who work out seem to be muscular simply because what little muscle there is shows up a lot against all that skin and bone. No one could weigh a100lbs at 5'8 and have a lot of muscle..and working out can not make you weigh more unless you are eating food to convert into muscle in the first place.
The fashion for size 00 is just about coming to an end now, even fashion designers get a little fazed when young models die as a result of malnutrition..it can really upset your catwalk schedule!

Yes, you can be quite thin and weigh more than people would guess you do. However, you cannot have a lot of muscle and weigh 100 lbs at 5'8 that is severely underweight, and while the fat ratio may be very low, there isn't much muscle either. At that size, you are really unhealthy regardless of your body's makeup. In fact, at that point, the body is feeding off of muscle including the heart muscle, and the person in question could literally drop dead.

2 forms of muscle... bulging or toned.

I am a small framed guy and most would assume I am about 120 lbs if that. But I am 145lbs. Why? Cause I am toned head to toe due to being active and being an inline speed skater. So since I am toned, my muscle does have more mass and weight but I am not bulging.

But if I went to the gym and lifted weights, then I would bulge and in turn look big and gain even more weight.

But that is not always the case. Some big body builders actually don't weigh much as their muscles have no mass, just inflated due to chemicals and stimulants. A thin toned guy could weigh more yet look smaller. And at the same time, the smaller toned guy is also stronger. The size of a muscle does not determine its strength, its mass does.

So the goal to staying thin yet to gain strength and muscle, is toned, very toned. Cause then your muscle is just solid yet not big. That's how my legs are, they look like anyone elses unless I flex them, then the solid toned muscles stand out.

Muscle is denser than fat and looks tighter, but it does still add bulk. So you will probably look slimmer than someone else of the same weight who has less muscle and more body fat than you do.

And as weighing 100lb at 5ft8, even a 5ft2 female could not have much muscle mass at 100lb without being underfat. So you can probably guess the answer is a big NO to being muscular at 5ft8 and only 100lb!

Forget about weight. Get a pair of callipers and a tape measure and focus on body fat.

Yes, muscle weighs more than fat, but that's ok! Muscle mass is good. It burns lots of calories even when you're sitting on the couch doing absolutely nothing. To get "huge" requires massive effort and an incredibly complicated diet, not to mention genetics. For a female to get "huge" is extremely rare without chemical support, if you know what I mean.

A good weight lifting program will make you look trim and fit, increase your bone density and improve your "metabolic engine". Just make sure you get a good personal trainer to develop a program and show you how to lift with proper form in order to avoid injuries.

5'8 and 100 lbs with a lot of muscle? unless you are a bodybuilder with 10% body fat there isn't going to be much muscle on that frame.

the vast majority of skinny men or women have higher than average levels of body fat. so even with a rough estimate of 25% body fat which would be for a fairly lean and athletic woman that would be 75 lbs of lean body mass, which is nothing on a 5'8 frame.

low body fat or not 100 lbs on a 5'8 frame falls into the Mini-McSkinny category.

NO, easily no longer. a million lb of fat and a million lb of muscle are precisely a similar weight - ie a million lb the clarification human beings think of that fat weighs greater is with the help of the fact in case you had a million lb of fat on the table in front of you and you had a million lb of muscle, the muscle could be smaller using fact this is denser and for this reason you could in effective condition a million lb of muscle right into a smaller section than a similar weight in fat. this is like the previous college question that instructors could in specific circumstances ask "what weighs greater a million ton of feathers or a million ton of lead" and young infants will often say the lead, yet they could the two weigh a million ton, this is merely which you would be wanting an excellent volume of feathers to lead them to weigh comparable to a extremely small volume of lead. in case you're develop your muscle tissues, then you certainly would be burning off the fat of your physique and your shape will substitute, whether, the scales won't coach an excellent weight help. yet you may bypass on the way you look and how you sense in preference to in basic terms on how plenty you weigh. 10 inches off your waist is a very remarkable weight help and if that replaced into me, i think of i could be based greater on the tape degree than the scales any further. nicely completed. you have inspired me. i bypass to the gym the next day after examining your question :o)
