I don't like goat cheese either. I think feta is a pretty good substitute.

Yes, Brie (I think most cheeses labeled goat cheese are a type of brie) cream cheese (but that has a different taste, though same consistency) or fetta (which is dry and less creamy, but could work too as it softens in sauces and most cooking). Or you could just omit the goat cheese and add a bit more of the other cheeses. Most alfredo does not call for goat chese and just calls for parmesan and heavy cream with eggs or egg yolks sometimes or sometimes just the cream and parmesean or romano (or any sprinkle spagetti cheese) I think it tastes better that way. I'm not a huge fan of goat cheese but sometimes I like it. But any creamy cheese could be used with slightly different tastes.

I used to work in a cheese factory that used both cow and goat milk. I can tell you that there really isn't that big a difference. Blue cheese made from cow's milk tends to be very similar though.

Marscapone - similar enough consistency and price range. I think the taste is mild enough to work as a substitution for you.

I came across this article from Dr. Gourmet website. I think it has alot to do with taste and how it compliments the other ingredients... but I'll let you see for yourself.
