I will preface this by saying I'm of Italian-American descent and worked in an Italian restaurant in college, and can cook REAL Italian food.
That said, some nights I work late and get home late and just chow on a can on Spaghettios or Chef Boy R Dee ravioli out of mere convenience.
Is this really that bad? It's only 450 calories -- practically every other meal has more calories. Thanks for your dietary and culinary advice.

i would say that eating canned spaghetti is not that big of a deal once in a while. this is coming from a fit and healthy woman who eats fast food at least five times a week. calories are calories and as long as you're burning as much as you eat, you won't have to worry about weight. keep an eye on cholesterol and salt intake and make sure you get your veggies at other meals. other than that, enjoy!

While it's not that uncommon for people to dislike mixing foods, I think you take it to unhealthy levels. Your enjoyment of a dish like spaghetti should not be spoiled because you *need* to eat the components separately, and things like fretting over the color of Skittles is unnecessary and somewhat disruptive. I mean, relative to other things, being this anxious about your food is hardly the worst thing. But you could probably benefit a lot from speaking to a psychologist about it. Food shouldn't present that many worries.

Number One: You are probably eating the whole can. It's 450 calories per serving so you are actually eating 900 in ONE MEAL!!!! Number Two (HAHA) look at the ingredients and see if you can even pronounce any of them aloud. Nope didn't think so. I think the main reason it is sooo unhealthy is because anything prepackaged or premade is usually a bad choice. Just a rule of thumb. There are better things you can eat for you that are just as simple but way more healthy. If you only consume the canned stuff very rarely (ie: Once every two months) You should be fine!!! You'll be fine anyway but it really isn't a good diet choice. That's all!!!

the body only needs carbohydrates when it's going to be physically active. so consuming carbs right before bed is the absolute worst time and over time will cause an increase in body fat. there is a lot more to eating healthy than calories.
if you know you work late several nights a week then you should have food already prepared that just needs to be warmed up or meals that are already started. it only takes 10-15 minutes to broil some fish and make steamed vegetables.
Edit:
broiling fish at 10pm is idiotic? apparently you are the moron that can't even read the calories per serving on a can of spaghetti and meatballs and you claim to be in college? me thinks you "may" need some brain food like fish it surely can't hurt
doesn't matter if it's 900 or 450 either way it's garbage. why ask for advice if you are just going to shoot it down. enjoy your gut

*high fives* I do that same thing. xD I'm really bad with it when it comes to those jumbo bags of M&M's because I'll get a big freezer bag and separate them by colour and then eat my least favourite colours first {the brown ones, orange, red} and then my favourite colours last {green, yellow, blue} in that order. I used to separate the colours into separate little sandwich baggies...but then my mom got quite angry over it. xD

Calories-In vs Calories-Out.... right? WRONG!!!
Proper diet and health (as well as weight maintenance) has nothing, absolutely nothing, to do with the Calorie theory. Checkout "Good Calories, Bad Calories" by science writer Gary Taubes if you are interested in maintaining robust health and eating truly health-promoting foods.
