We, as human beings, became understandably fearful when the storm (symbolic of the storms in our own lives)- Thinking that He did not care if they perished during this storm, he ordered the winds cease, by asking it to be still. (still being that we, as human beings believe in Him and Pray)- and all of those marveled, yet, wondered, who is this man, who even the wind and the sea obey him?
My understanding of this scripture is that we all face storms in our lives, and must have FAITH in the Lord, who will get us through the bad times we face. It is not automatic, yet, it will happen with patience, perseverance, and TRUE faith. It is only human nature to be fearful, weak, and vunerable, but, with our FAITH and PRAYER in GOD, we WILL get through our troubled times and overcome our storms, no matter how big they are.

Jesus’ authority over the forces of nature (4:35 -41)
When faced with the storm, the disciples demonstrated a natural response, once again forgetting what they had been taught by the Master. How easily and quickly they have forgotten what they had heard and what they had seen by being with Him: they had seen demons cast out
(1:23 – 27; 1:32 – 34; 3:11 – 12), the healing of the sick (1:30 -34; 1:40 – 44; 2;3 – 12; 3;1 – 5),
and upon being commissioned by Him were themselves able to cast out demons in His Name (3:14 – 15).
Imagine their total amazement when they beheld with their own eyes ‘even the wind and the sea’ obeying Him! We are told that after witnessing this display of His power over the elements, the disciples became afraid and ‘ said to one another, Who then is this..?’
As fishermen they had not seen such an awesome display of authority before! Surely even the most experienced and seaworthy of them all were afraid of storms at sea and may had even known of family members and friends who had lost their lives at sea. . and yet, here was this man who could calm the storm with a simple rebuke! Who then is this…?
Did their thoughts turn to the Psalmist who said in Psalms 107: 23 – 32, that ‘They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters…see the works of the Lord, and His wonders in the deep…..He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still…’ Surely, they must have thought, only God can calm the storms! WHO THEN IS THIS, THAT EVEN THE WIND AND THE SEA OBEY HIM?

In 4:35 HE said let us pass over unto the other side.
So HIS disciples didn't have faith that they were going over.
Mar 4:41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?
The wind is symbolic of the HOLY SPIRIT.
The Sea is symbolic of the people Rev 17:15, point is HE has power over all people.

This passage of Scripture shows the amazing power Jesus has! This is very reassuring for us to know that our King has power over the natural elements and that when his full attention is directed toward our earth during his Kingdom rule, all people will dwell in security from terrifying natural disasters.

I put this with his statement that if we had faith the size of a mustard seed we could command a mountain to move and it would.
I wonder what he knew about the power of our minds that we don't. For instance Peter ran out on the sea and only began to sink when he took the time to notice where he was. Is there capabilities that we have innately that we are unaware of? I think ....YES

they think that Jesus became into the Messiah, yet that they had their doubts too. to boot, they did no longer understand a lot of Jesus teachings except Jesus clarify it to them. it variety of feels that the Pharisees have been commonly extra conscious of Jesus teachings than his disciples. They knew that Jesus pronounced he became into going to resurrect on an identical time as the disciples look to forget approximately approximately it. The disciples have been specially dependable to Jesus. That became into their larger plus. on the commencing up, they have been probable searching for a place in the government whilst Jesus restoration the dominion. All their wish have been given banished whilst they observed that Jesus became into captured and killed. They in no way predicted such large powers on Jesus, like controlling the organic aspects. they did no longer see Jesus as God until later.

once Jesus said,"go to the other side of the Lake", thats all the disciple needed to hear to know they would, in fact, make it...but they doubted later.....
we really just need to obey and not worry about what we see with our eyes...and If we hear nothing after the initial call [when it seems the Lord is "asleep"] we need to just keep on trusting......

To me it means that no matter what "storms" I have in my life, He is with me and will never forsake me. Some things that happen in our walk with the Lord are not always pleasant to deal with, but by faith we have the assurance and peace that He will take care of His children. God bless you!!!

The stormy sea represents life and the boat represents the journey through it. Sometomes that journey goes through stormy times, but if you have faith in Jesus, He will stay n=by your side and get you through it.
