So what do i do now I am very busy with work and dont think i can take the time off work to go into some office and what not

Yeah you can but you have to send in original documents by the mail and it takes a long time it's better to take off and get one. You can't be that busy where you wouldn't want to get a SSN card. Take a day off and take care of your business!

Ha ha ha ha! In the mail! Oh ... sorry. You're going to have to take a half day off and go in person to report your card either lost or stolen. The staff there will indicate on their system so thirty or forty years from now you don't get the shock of your life when you find out someone else claiming to be you spent your benefits.
You'll get a receipt right there,and in two weeks,you'll get the new card. Due to high rate of identity theft,you have to go in person.

No, you must go to the office to get a new card. Depending on where you live, that could be a huge pain in the butt or a 20 minute in and out kind of thing. I went to an office in the northern burbs of NYC and was in and out in 20 minutes. My brother went to an office in the burbs of Miami.....i heard the complaints for 3 days.
In any case, an in person visit is required.
