Why do some atheists try to shove thie beliefs in your face?

When they hate it when others do the same to them?
Theres this one girl at my school and she was like, "oh my JESUS... not that i BELIEVE in him or anyhting"

and on her myspace she posts up some video and under it she wrote: "For all you ******* Christians/Catholics, that might make you change your mind about "God". Watch the whole video. :D ^^^^^^^^^^"

i don't understand why she has to state her beliefs so OPENLY. nobody even really cares if shes an atheist or not. i mean i'm not christian but if someone openly stated... I BELIEVE IN GOD/JESUS/JSPPDSAJFOIS she would get pissed. i just don get it

and also, to all you guys who replied with that stuff about going on her myspace, it's on there because obviously she wants people to see it. and i DID see it. and she is my friend, yes i'm going to visit her myspace page. and i'm not going to avoid her or stop talking to her. that would be exactly what she despises. me ignoring her because of her beliefs? nah. im just saying she could tone down a lil and maybe try practicing what she preaches. ie: "don't shove your beliefs down my throat"

nobody knows what's right OR wrong.
she believes in what she wants to.
and everyone else believes in what they want to.

so many of you are posting about jesus and god and heaven and hell. that's exactly what i'm talking about. i wasn't trying to single out just athiests, its everyone. it just happened to be an atheist who said this.

if they really wanted to hear it... why don't they just google it?

Your schoolgirl is just that - a schoolgirl.
With maturity comes tact, tolerance, generosity, etc, etc. maybe someday she will learn to speak wisdom instead of just blurting silliness.
On the other hand, one only has to keep a close eye on what is being submitted here from the deluded, usually in the form of preaching, to understand that there are two sides to the coin.
As a long-term atheist, I don't 'shove', I put forward an opinion in an attempt to sow the seed of reality into corrupted mind-sets, the owners of which I truly pity and feel very sorry for. I hope that I help to change some borderline minds and nudge them into the real world.

Just live and let live. do not worry about others behaviours. some outgrow their immaturity of social behaviours. Others become downright obnoxious!

Reilgious and spiritual beliefs may be the last horizon of harmony..... for people want to feel their belief is the right one.

Well there is no right one for everyone.

One can only choose what is right for you. So pick a new friend that is more to your likeing and just allow the girl to be so outragious!

Well it's her myspace, it's not like she's holding a knife to someone's face. I don't think she would get offended if a religious person simply said they believed in God. I'm an Atheist, so I know. I don't care if people believe in God. They can even be proud to believe in God. Honestly I don't care, but I don't try to push my beliefs down their throats, so I wouldn't like it if a religious person was trying to brainwash me.

well it sounds like she is very young and rebelling. i dont shove my views on anyone. in fcat i dont speak of them because most religious people ... in all honesty...cant handle my views. but that is besides the point. she is acting that way...to be different...she probably thinks its cool to not be like everyone else. and in all honesty ...she is reflecting what the religious do to the athiests. we do get attacked.
but... here is where she is wrong in what shes doing.....she shouldnt have to prove anything. she doesnt realize that it doesnt matter what the religious think...and if shes an athiest... then she is now responsible for her actions and should begin to realize that she has to be a better person than all the people she is trying to change. problem is.... people will change when they are ready. no one changed me to athiesm... i did... on my own..she will have probs until she just does her own thing...and stops worrying about what everyone else is doing.

She's not forcing anything - shes exercising her first ammendment right to have a myspace page, and tell you she has no belief in Jesus. DEAL WITH IT.

It goes both ways, sweetheart.
Atheists get religious, dogmatic crap shoved in our faces all the time. After hearing it so much, one tends to explode.
Coming from an atheist, I think that everyone should keep their religious/superstitions/spiritual nonsense to themselves (atheist or not).

LOL you've got it twisted my friend..I've never once heard an Atheist trying to convince you Jesus isn't real..I think we all agree that you believe he is real and we couldn't change that even if we wanted to..As a former Christian myself, I'm shocked you would even say that..I haven't found a single Atheist that wants to convert anyone..All they want is to defend themselves..The same Can not be said for Christians however..

If you don't care if she is an atheist, why do you care what she believes? Why is your belief more important? She has as much right as you do...more, it's her MySpace page. If you don't like it, don't go there. It's a free country. No one stops you from proselytizing, even though people hate it.
