My favorite is that spider. You are getting a lot of mileage out of him, aren't you? I like this version the best so far.

I do like the eye, but I think I'd actually like it better if there was some color in the rest of the picture. Leave the eye exactly as it is, as it is beautiful, but consider desaturating the rest of the image quite a bit, but not totally to gray scale. I'd like to see how this looks with a hint of skin and hair color remaining instead of B&W.

Personally, the other two don't do anything for me.

I actually outright don't like the rose, but that's just a matter of taste. To me, the water destroys any sharp lines in the image. I'd like a little bit of dew better than a totally soaked rose.

The metal sun rays are a clever way to look at things, but it just doesn't grab me. If you didn't title it, I would not have an interpretation of it at all.

This doesn't mean that they are good or bad - just that they are not to my taste. It's good to experiment, though.

I really like the eye pic, not many people can pull that off so beautifully. I like the b/w vs color contrast and the light feel to the photo. Way to go!

One idea for the metal sun ray shot would be to do a couple exposures - expose one for the sky and one for the metal rods, then composite them in photoshop so they're both correctly exposed. Also maybe add some more colors into the sky - some reds, maybe boost the contrast. Matthew Turley does some amazing things with clouds.

Awesome pics!

Ignore draagon's sarcastic criticism. Everyone has to start somewhere and whether it's photography, writing, painting, etc, in the beginning EVERYONE uses someone elses work as an example. Not necessarily an exact copy, but as a guide none the less. I doubt draagon was an Ansel Adams when he first started. Constructive criticism is one thing but sour grapes is something else, so stuff it draagon.

i too love the spider...you must have spent some time shooting that critter that is the third different shot i've seen of her, excellent.
they are all delightfully composed and done.
it is always a treat to see your work, and pay no attention to draagon, in all of his answers to everyone he seems cynical and bitter and just plain mean spirited, you are in good company, there are a great many gifted people he as belittled.

for someone as young as you, the progress you are making is awesome, Dragoon always attacks in their answers, sad really, the first half is just attack, the second half is a little useful ......really being mean to young girls is a bit low i think

your exploring angles and compositions- excellent,,

dont worry everything has been shot/done before, and you have to gewt through this to get to the other side,

spider is scary and very pleasing, keep doing what your doing

thanks for the share

Annafur, great job, some folks will record 10,000 images and never come close to this. Do any of the pros out there know of any scolarships for someone of this potential?
Draagon - are you jealous?

Very ordinary. Seen all this a million times before. The eye thing is SO common it is now a laughing stock, regardless of how technically good it is. In fact, it is usually seen as a sign of boredom or as a lack of original thought.
