Kind of proves intelligent design, doesn't it?
(i.e. scientists, used deliberate actions, knowledge to 'create' life. Supports the creator story more than life by chance, no?)
Thanks for the link.
It proves beyond any shadow of a doubt, that you,
A. Can not read.
B. Have limited reading comprehension, or
C. Are a pathological liar.
What the article clearly says is that this scientist is creating artificial genetic code, injecting it into already living cells, with the hope of creating an uncertain modified life form.
This is clearly not the creation of life. It is clearly not the proof of life by chance. It is merely a modern day Dr. Frankenstein tinkering with thing he probably shouldn't.
Next thing you know? This fool will have invented a germ or virus or life form to which millions of humans will be inadvertently infected with and die.
The very fact that you exalt such reckless behavior proves that you have a serious lack of understanding when it comes to things humans should not randomly mess with.

You know they have been announcing that for the last four decades, but you never hear any ongoing details. And why does the Origin of Life Foundation in the states still offering their million dollar prize to anyone who can succesfully demonstrate the process of those chemicals forming from nothing. You would think these scientists could use the funding.

They have been doing viruses for some time.

But I don't see anything new on the news page. Perhaps you should post a link. This is what the Creationists always do.
Edit: Yep, I've read some of his stuff. He isn't really doing what you claimed. What he IS doing is writing genomes from scratch and inserting them into live cells. That is a whole lot different, although still pretty amazing. There are other scientists that are coming closer to your claim. They are down to just needing membranes and they will be able to do exactly what you said. But they are still assembling non-living parts into something that is alive.

Thats funny, cause that is nothing new. Bush Adm has been trying to stop that for some time (stem cell). Because they are afraid people or Corporations will start pattoning new life from test tubes or whatever. Their is also alot of debate on who would own the new life forms, and how to regulate it. Crazy stuff!

It was the Anunnaki Scientist that created the Homo Sapien from gene splicing with a certain monkey and adding Anunnaki DNA- the missing link.

They are not 'creating' life - they are putting new genes and proteins into an existing cell.
People have been doing that for years (genetically engineered, food, viral vectors for medicines, fluorescent tobacco plants (I saw a picture in a biology textbook), etc.).
Looks like most people here caught your bluff.

I looked and looked, and found *this.*

This was news in 9/2007. Is that what we're commenting on?
ADD: ok - looked through your link, and was not impressed with the wild claim, which is clearly not supported by your article:
"We're not creating life from scratch in the test tube,"

I'm an atheist but I'm calling your bluff all the same.
Provide the link.

Thank you for the link.
You will notice that he is not creating life. He is creating a new form of life from a pre-existing cell.
There's a bit of a difference.
To speak of 'creating life' means invoking abiogenesis. This is gengineering.
Please keep your terms a little more accurate.

Interesting..but taking a vital step towards building a living organism is a bit of a let down. I thought that they made life.

Human scientists will only recreate the inferior life forms of the past that the God Yahweh allowed to become extinct. We will regret every monster we create.

I have read many things like this as I am a scientist and it interests me. However in one case in which they created a polio virus they used the known genome of the polio virus to build it. They basically created a copy. In the other cases they have used the building blocks of life in addition to complex enzymes that would themselves have had to been created before the life could exist. Science has not been able to create life in conditions that they believe represent the conditions at the beginning of time. In addition the need for intelligence in the lab to create this life points more to a creator rather then evolution in my opinion.
