I was trying to clean it with a napkin, and the knife sliced through it and cut my finger. I'm not quite sure how far it went, but the knife was an unserrated fruit knife. When I came on YA for some advice on how to keep it from getting infected, I read a question about someone who had cut their finger with a knife and couldn't feel anything in that finger anymore. Now I'm freaked out. My cut throbbed for a few minutes, and there wasn't much blood. It doesn't even hurt anymore, but I'm wondering if I should still get it checked out. Ideas?

I'm guessing the cut was 3mm deep at the most.

Clean it, dry it, put some antiseptic on it and a plaster (band-aid).

3mm is nothing, you are fine, especially its not bleeding and not hurting.

Dang female how previous are you? Ouija boards are made by using a toy corporation for 8 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous young ones. they are produced from wood and paint and plastic. Do you extremely have self belief that a toy corporation could be allowed to sell a game to young ones that became risky. it is purely a game. people unfold rumours approximately it and others advert to it and unfold it to others. You in no way hear from somebody something undesirable handed off to because of the fact they continually say it handed off to a chum while in certainty it gave the impression of a stable tale so as that they only unfold it on. in case you do no longer decide on the toy then supply it to goodwill or a charity shop so somebody else can savour it. it is purely a game.

Neosporin and a band-aid man. Dont worry about it too much. i did that in Anatomy class last year dissecting pigs. I kept reassuring this girl I wouldnt cut her finger, and in the process, managed to slip and the knife went through the clove and cut me. If I didnt get infected when working with a dead animal, I wouldnt worry too much about fruit.

No, 3mm is barely piercing the skin. To lose feeling in the finger, one would have to cut all the way to the bone and severe the nerves.

it's common to cut a few small nerve fibers, most of them will regenerate on their own. Just keep the finger clean and dry and it won't get infected because of its excellent blood supply.

1. If you are immune suppressed (cancer, HIV, etc.), see your doctor.
2. Use hydrogen peroxide or alcohol to clean it and keep it from infection.
3. Apply a really good brand of aloe vera gel (see souce). And, finally, keep it covered with a bandage that "breaths."

Put some first aid cream on it and a band aid. Yours sounds like a minor cut.

The other person sounds like they damaged a nerve.
