The mark you all are talking about isn't a chip in your head or a mark on your hand. It is a figure of speech (a Greek colloquialism). It is what is in your mind-your though process-your being completely seduced by anti-christ's "system". Satan is considerably smarter than coming here to put a stamp on your forehead. OBVIOUSLY if he did that we all would know who he really is. He is coming here as a play actor pretending to be Jesus. That is why most of the world will follow after him. He will seem appealing, peaceful, the answer to all our prayers-here to heal the world-a chicken in every pot. Only it is a lie....Think about his method of operation in the garden.....

According to the articles, the bill has yet to be signed, and may not even be signed. And, if it does get signed, nothing will happen for 3 or more years. More than likely nothing will happen. Trying to implement a national ID is like trying to empty the ocean with a spoon. The states will not want to give up their rights. And, trying to get something that all 50 states will be able to implement? Well, forget it.
Personally, though, I am not against this ID, IF it is done right. Knowing our government, though, it will not be done right. The description I read is that it will be a drivers' license, and I already have one of them. I also already have a passport, so I have what I need to identify me as a US citizen.
Now, I do not like that magnetic strip in the new passports, and feel that it's just another way to allow personal information to leak to unsavory people. I'm glad that my passport was issued before that new strip was instituted. It's just another way for us to see how incompetent the US government really is.
As far as your fear that the national ID could be compared to the mark of the beast, I would be more afraid if they wanted to implant something in my body. That, to me, would definitely be the mark of the beast.

I think it is just a step towards the mark of the beast. If you think about it, its not like the anti-Christ will just appear and stamp your hand. the world will be in a perfect position to accept the anti-Christ when he comes and things like social security, and the bar code, though helpful, are just another step.

Personally, I think the mark will be more along the lines of microchipping. But if the Real ID fails, who knows what they'll try next? Microchipping is the next logical step. It would be impossible to fake.

Whatever it will be , microchip, a number tattoo, a scanner or whatever. The relationship and love I have with my Father will cause me to give my life for him, just as the Son gave his for me. What a great reward I will receive from him, to be in his presence because of my faithfulness to him. I will not fear death for his cause. AMEN!

i dont mind it really until they'll want to implant it on your neck or hand or something. than yea uh no. i know all barcodes have numbers attached to them and the 3 middle lines stand for 666 and yea im totally not cool with implanting a barcode in myself. if i wont get my dogs microchipped im not going to implant something in me that can potentially have the barcode numbers that are also the same as the mark of the beast

Wow. I am completey against this!!!
Christian or no Christian should accept this! This goes against our civil rights. We must beware of Big brother keeping track of us to much! There's more and more going on in this country that smells fishy. I see movie camara's on most street corners too.
Most of these idea's sound good, at first. Then someone may use it for evil then we loose our freedom.

I think it's too much of a stretch to claim that a card is the mark of the beast. But, when it turns into a chip imbedded under the skin...then it's a mark.

If it is a card like it says I will accept it. If it is a mark on my hand or for head I will not.

Until the anti-christ comes and makes us do something like that, then it is not the mark of the beast. Unless you are saying Bush is the anti-christ? He is not.
Also, it must be placed in the hand or forehead.
